I just got here a few minutes ago and saw right away on Page 1. Yes! Thank you so much, Q3, for putting the Donate to the Philippine Red Cross for the Typhoon victims. If I may suggest, the best way to send donation (of money)to the Phil. Red Cross is via PAYPAL for those with Paypal accounts. It's safer and will go straight to the Phil. Red Cross. But there are other secure ways to send donation (if one is not in the Philippines) as shown in the Phil. red Cross website. Also, the 7/11 stores mentioned in the Phil. Red Cross website are those located only in the Philippines and not the ones in the U.S. I don't think the 7/11 overseas stores are connected to the donation program. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.

Just a note to make sure people understand that site takes donations in Philippine currency. People in the U.S. can use the American Red Cross site where there is a link for donations to be dedicated to the Philippine disaster. I assume many countries have their own Red Cross site with such an option. I didn't realize this. So say you used the above link and donated $50.00 US currency through paypal...that is not the amount the Philipinnes Red Cross received? All I was saying is that the donation amount on that site is listed in Philippine currency not US $. A person would need to be aware of exchange rates to make the amount of donation you planned on.

Thanks Craazyforadam and everyone who helped explain the currency exchange rate. I already donated directly to the PRC earlier before I was aware it was not in US currency.

I do not know if you can change it to $ later on. I just donated in pesos. ETA: I see I am very late in my answer! There are many good choices on how to donate but the best way to help is to provide money to organizations that are on the ground in the Philippine -- any Red Cross/Red Crescent is fine. Catholic Relief Charities has people on the ground there and is also a good choice.
