There was some discussion about Matt Bellamy and Adam, and whether he had specifically approved Adam recording "Soaked" in yesterday's thread.
"Soaked" was written by Matthew Bellamy in 2006 and he recorded a demo but never released a recording of the track. RCA A&R got permission to record it from Matt's publisher, Warner Chappell. I am unaware of any time when Matt said he approved Adam recording this song. If it happened, he forgot about it within a couple of months.
You may recall that the demo (sung by Matt Bellamy) of "Soaked" was "found" on the Warner/Chappell Music website on October 26, 2009. Muse fans were aware of the track for years. Here is Matt's demo. (Caution: you will almost certainly prefer Adam's version. This is a very different version of the song.)

THERE ARE MANY MIS-REPORTS LIKE THIS:
"Bellamy, in turn, penned "Soaked" for Lambert's debut album, For Your Entertainment. But, of course , Matt wrote the song 3 years before Adam recorded it." EW article on Matt Bellamy.
The song was not "given" to Adam -- it was "purchased" by RCA.

In 2009, Matt was only vaguely familiar with Adam and said this in an interview with Lyndsey Parker August 24, 2009 AFTER SOAKED WAS RECORDED BY ADAM:
Y! MUSIC: ......There's so much momentum with you guys right now, a lot of things aligning, like the Twilight soundtrack, the VMAs, Adam Lambert covering "Starlight" on the American Idol tour...are you aware of Adam's cover?
MATT: Yeah, I saw a clip of that on YouTube, and I thought it was a nice compliment, really. It's always nice when someone covers your music. It's one of the ultimate compliments as a writer and also as a band, that someone else would want to adopt one of your songs. It was cool, you know. An interesting version..
Y! MUSIC: He's been really vocal about you guys. Even on Jazz Night on American Idol, the "Feeling Good" cover he did was inspired by your version. He's given you some good additional publicity in America..
MATT: Yeah, it's cool! I think that's nice. Is he making an album soon?.
Y! MUSIC: Yes, it comes out this fall..
MATT: OK, cool. Yeah, it would be interesting to hear that.

There was also some discussion about Matt's awareness of Adam now. And he said he was looking forward to seeing Adam at iHR. In response to the question about who they want to see at iHR -- Dominic Howard: "I am excited to see Queen" Matt: "Especially with Adam Lambert." Matt and Dominic are huge Queen fans. I would love, love, love to hear Adam perform with Muse.

The final question is if Matt and Adam finally met at iHR. As far as I can determine, they did not. But clearly Matt knows who Adam is now.
