Well my name is obvious. Here is the little love of my life: What an absolutely beautiful grandchild you have!!! I met you last Adam concert at WinStar, you stood behind me at the stage. I'm hoping I will make the concert New Year's Eve, maybe we can meet up again! Let's hope we can meet up right at center stage when Adam calls us all up because the comped-in high rollers didn't show or wouldn't stand up and dance!

I have been trying and failing to remember how Savvy came about. The PF is obvious, so long ago, and the 92, it was a very special year for me. I was totally new to social media when I came to Planet Fierce and had no idea I would get so deep into it. All because of Adam. Since January 2009, life has been so much more fun and I always sympathize with those who have missed ANYTHING Adam-related. Three or 4 times a year a picture will surface that I have not seen before and it's like Christmas. LoL Doesn't take much to make me happy. Savvy......How come I'm not surprised you can't remember why you picked your name. TeeHee. When I joined Planet Fierce I was impressed with a poster named Mainefan. So, I borrowed the idea, and decided since I was an Adam fan from Alabama and was also a huge fan of Alabama football, I'd just be bamafan. I had to add the pf for twitter since some Alabama football fan already had the name. Whenever I meet up with other Atoppers, most just call me Bama. Lucky for you I didn't grab BAMAFan first......... Now, if you'll excuse me, I half time is probably over and I have to go back to cheering my OTHER obsession on since Adam is awfully quiet. ROLL TIDE!!! Seriously, I had no friggin' idea I would fall into the quagmire of social media the way I have. My grandchildren think I've lost my mind, but they were impressed when I brought my Aviivi CD with me.

All this name splainin' has been fun and has inspired me to share "the moment" I fell under Adam's spell. I had quit watching Idol the year Taylor Hicks won. Season 5, I believe. However, my DH continued to watch so I had a vague idea of some things going on. One night as I sat at the computer searching the web for instructions on how to repair our icemaker (my exciting life), I heard this enchanting sound emanating from the living room. Rolling, undulating, caressing, notes with Middle-Eastern rhythms and cymbals entwined with a siren's voice with a hypnotic wail of passion and desire and mystery slithered through the air and entered my ears, my brain, my soul before warmly coiling around my nether region and establishing permanent residence there. I levitated to the television screen on an invisible magic carpet powered by lust inspired by this SOUND and became transfixed on that face, the hair, the nail polish, the leather, a sliver of skin, and an exposed ZIPPER!!! *swallowshardandfansselfatthememory* I fell down the rabbit hole. Hard. Not a chance of me ever crawling out either because I like it here...with all of you!

Just got on and see that we are giving name origins. Yay!! Newer friends on Atop may have guessed why I chose my moniker but folks who have known me for a while know that my name is waaaaaaay longer than it currently appears. During Idol Season 8 and its summer AI tour, I used to lurk at the Other Place. A lot of posters there used to angst over whether or not Adam would have an emo, Elvis, spikey-looking or a messy version of the Elvis hairdo each concert night. When I finally delurked and needed to choose a name, EmoElvisSpikeyMessyElvis had to be it!! See.... I am a 'tad' fixated on his glorious mane and I thought (and still think) that all Adam's hair iterations are expressions of his style, creativity, emoting a current view, etc., etc.... So no angsting for me on concert nights. Instead, anticipation ruled the nights as I couldn't wait to see what the heck he would do with the 'do. Posters welcomed me warmly and we had a good laugh about the name and my hair advocacy. I remember posting, "Adam, wear it and I will name it!" After that, we'd have fun times naming some of Adam's hairstyles and my name got longer with each addition. And boy, was he prolific with them 'dos!! Thankfully, he slowed down cuz my name got way too long. LMFAO!! :D : On the last Season 8 AI concert night, Adam went all out and the Elvis Pompadour TOWERED to the heavens and we had a blast naming that baby: TallAssPompaDo (my avi). The End. ** My full name: EmoElvisSpikeyMessyElvisPepeLePewEdwardScissorhandsSonictheHedgehogFluffyPremoTallAssPompaDoDirtyEmoTswoopBangDangleDeanFloppyEmoGlitterSpikeWholeLottaBefeatheringCockaDoFlauntingFlamesMcEmoIBroughtRazors!LeBedHeadFrankenGumpChromeAshPlatinumFantasyOh, I have not seen your full name for a while. Brings back memories of listening to the Idols Live tour 2009 on cell casts (with terrible audio) and watching Twitter for a hint of how his hair was done. And whether he sang "Whole Lotta Love" with the original lyrics or not [Way down inside... woman]. ETA: Just inspired by wannabethesnake to add my ROF story. I fell for Adam when I accidentally turn to Idol during a commercial break and saw Adam's audition. He had me at "Mama..." From that moment on, I did not miss an episode. I happened to be visiting my mother when Idol Country week arrived. So I watched ROF with my mom -- and her response to the performance was total amazement, mostly in a good way. And she said, "Well that was a different kind of country music."

When I was a teenager, my favorite book was Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon, by Marjorie Kellogg. Going from memory as I have not reread it in many years, this is a gentle story about three misfits who meet at a rehab center. Junie Moon was burned by an abusive boyfriend, and her two friends are a gay man who was put in a wheelchair by a hate crime, and a man with epilepsy. Together they strike out for independence and new lives by moving in together. When I chose my screen name, I had already named a pet after Junie Moon and I also liked the feeling it gave me to remember and how much Adam brought back memories of that book and the way I felt back then. By the way, the book was made into an awful melodramatic movie which I don't recommend!
