OT, but too wonderful not to share: Someone posted the other day about the waitress who was stiffed on a tip because the people she waited on decided, based on her very short hair, that she was a lesbian and they wrote on the receipt that they couldn't tip her because they didn't agree with her lifestyle. After the story spread around the Internet, many people donated money to her to make up for the tip she didn't get. She received over $2,000 and decided to donate the money to Wounded Warriors, an organization that helps severely wounded veterans. Her employer is matching the donation. I hope the people who refused to tip her feel like the slimy lowdown creatures that they are. Waitress Donates Money

Oh lawdy!! Me too!!! It's been over three years since I saw him perform! THREE YEARS!!! For now, will just have to be patient and wait for all the videos his wonderful fans will make for us poor deprived folks! Congrats to all those lucky AToppers who will be able to make these shows!! I am with you, my fellow New Yorker! We are so scorned - no TP concert so far Yes, we had the Beacon theater event (WWFM duet), the WAFF in Jan 2012 and the LI performances with Nile. And while these were awesome, it's not the same as a full Adam concert... PLEASE ADAM! COME TO NYC!!!! My budget won't allow airfare or hotels, these days.....and my one show was at the St. George on SI and truth be told: everything from that night is a complete blur! I was in such a state of shock that he was performing right in front of me, I think I must have entered a semi-catatonic state.... I mean, I KNOW I was there......but that's all I know...... As we used to say in the old neighborhood: I need a DO-OVER!!

This waitress seems like a good person with so much more class than the people who left her no tip because she didn't fit their life style.

this morning on Twitter,I saw this interesting little take on how the music industry is changing, and how the old album model is becoming obsolete. One sentence made me think of Adam and the fact that he is in a good place: "Labels are no longer in the record business, they’re in the star business." Adam has personal assets that make him unique and a natural born star: One in a billion voice, handsome looks, charming and endearing personality, fun fashion sense, acting talent and so forth that will allow him to shine in this new age. In addition he seems to inspire loyalty and strong passion in his fans. I think he will be an artist that can use this new "star" era to his advantage. variety.com/2013/biz/news/katy-perrys-prism-a-good-example-of-how-albums-dont-work-anymore-1200824933/Can't remember who posted this on Twitter. Thanks for bringing this over, Jean! Very interesting read and I scrolled/read most of the comments, too. So many different views on the future of music! I learned a lot about both sides of the argument. I have thought about this a lot in regard to Adam. I don't understand in this day why he would wait to release a single until an album is complete. Just doesn't make sense. In my imaginary world, he would release singles... as one tops the chart, or doesn't... then another is released. Sort of a stream of singles released at xxxxxx time/s. THEN, release an album that includes the singles that are out there plus other songs. Hmm, sort of sounds like the Avicii model, and we see how that is working for him:-) But to me the MOST important part is: Do NOT release, hint or otherwise leak the single until it is also ready to purchase!!! How often has something of Adam's been leaked on the net, people ASKING where the can purchase it (crickets), so they download in the meantime. Die hard fans like us will go and purchase it in the someday time it can be bought, but others my never get back to the ferver time and follow through with the purchase. To me, not having the song ready to be sold when it hits the internet and/or promo buz factor is the biggest detriment to sales IMHO. Ok, back to reality. But in that dream at least we could have a new song come out way before any album is complete, right? :-)))))

Edit: OMG! Just realised this is my 500th post...
Is there any special prize for being the slowest person ever to 500?... Feel I should make a speech but all I want to say is that I love this place and all who sail in her.... Congratulations SophieB! I don't know if there is a prize for the slowest but I would get one for the most unobservant. I made my 1000th post a couple of days ago and didn't notice! When I saw your post today I thought "Hey wasn't my 1000th coming up?" and went back and checked on the number. Belated ... on your well-deserved new stars, Sophie and Curly!

I thought artists TOURED to promote an album. There are many musical acts that never get radio play and minimal exposure from mainstream sources. But they continue to make music and perform LIVE in what is called a tour. They appear night after night in towns and cities thoughout the lands. Many do it without funding from a label or corporate sponsors. I don't know how they do it. I guess it is ticket sales and merchandise. I still don't get why Adam did not make a Trespassing tour happen. Is it harder for a soloist to tour than a band? More expensive because they have to hire musicians? I do not understand. I hope he will TOUR again someday.
