Q3: I agree with you that singing an aria requires lots of training in that style/type. It is not something you get a few pointers on in an hour or two, and then do it convincingly. Adam has not been focused on that type of singing in many years, and, tho' he is very skilled, it would be trivializing the hard work and years of study done by classical singers to say that adam could just jump in there and do it.
However, and this is a big however, many of his basic vocal techniques are the same as a classical singer's. I believe that he could apply those techniques with the right coaching, and transition to the more classical style. There are times when it peeks thru, even with a pop/rock song (for example, a few phrases of WWTLF and Soaked). So, if Adam ever took it into his head to sing an aria, I don't think it would take him years of training to pull it off convincingly. But it would take more than a couple of days/weeks.
Does he have the voice type for opera? Yes, I think he does. Not the dramatic tenor roles, but the roles for a lyric or leggero tenor. But, if he ever wanted to sing opera, he would have continued his study in that direction. I don't think the idea has ever wafted past his brain, even on those drugs at Burning Man. I do hold out some fragile hope for him to return, at least on a very temporary basis, to classic music theater. That would be enough for me.
