Gotta love that A2 Puppet Adam hits at the end of his run I was waiting for someone to mention that note. I expected it from either you or Holst. It is a little breathy, but solid. What fun! Also, his vocals on the new songs have some pretty, rich, lower register stuff, don't they? I'm just getting here today. Yup, noticed that note right off. Sort of interesting for him to go so low when he doesn't usually. His riff sounded sort of like the ads last year for Vh1 Diva (the glass shattering ones). I love how he threw the puppet's head back right at the end. I wonder if he had any puppet training during his childhood years with his theater group. I got to play a puppet in high school and loved it. It was way more fun and freeing than regular acting for me.

Why is Adam listed as Guest Star and Demi as "Special Guest Star" .... Does it mean Adam's role is on and off just like the rest of the Guest Stars' list but Demi's role has an ending? www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/glee/s05/e07/Curious for sure. However, last summer I watched past seasons of Glee in preparation for now and noticed that a number of the regular cast were listed as guest stars, including Chord Overstreet for a couple seasons.

Q3: I agree with you that singing an aria requires lots of training in that style/type. It is not something you get a few pointers on in an hour or two, and then do it convincingly. Adam has not been focused on that type of singing in many years, and, tho' he is very skilled, it would be trivializing the hard work and years of study done by classical singers to say that adam could just jump in there and do it. However, and this is a big however, many of his basic vocal techniques are the same as a classical singer's. I believe that he could apply those techniques with the right coaching, and transition to the more classical style. There are times when it peeks thru, even with a pop/rock song (for example, a few phrases of WWTLF and Soaked). So, if Adam ever took it into his head to sing an aria, I don't think it would take him years of training to pull it off convincingly. But it would take more than a couple of days/weeks. Does he have the voice type for opera? Yes, I think he does. Not the dramatic tenor roles, but the roles for a lyric or leggero tenor. But, if he ever wanted to sing opera, he would have continued his study in that direction. I don't think the idea has ever wafted past his brain, even on those drugs at Burning Man. I do hold out some fragile hope for him to return, at least on a very temporary basis, to classic music theater. That would be enough for me. Agree with you Cassie. However, for purposes of singing opera on Glee (fat chance), he could do it. The general public would drop jaws. They love mediocre classical singers on America's Got Talent and Britain's Got Talent--not to mention Andrea Bocelli. Many people think Bocelli is an opera singer and love his renditions of arias. Adam certainly has better technique (better everything) than Bocelli and could pull of an aria just fine for Glee.

Hi Everyone -- I thought I would share an amazing experience I had yesterday!
A year or so ago, my cousin Mark and his partner of 27 years Joseph, told me they were thinking of getting married since it is now legal in WA State. I said I would love to do the wedding, but Joe said that he had a judge friend he wanted to ask, but I could sing. Fast forward to a couple of months ago--I get the wedding invitation (yay) and Mark asked me to call--it turns out they wanted to know if I could read something at the ceremony. Of course I said yes. Then last Tuesday, I got a somewhat panicked call from Mark asking if I might be able to officiate at the ceremony...and so yesterday I officiated (in my pastor guise) at their wedding. It was truly one of the happiest weddings I have ever been part of. When Mark and Joe entered the ballroom where the wedding was being held and started down the aisle, everyone not only stood--they cheered. It was fabulous. I got great compliments on the ceremony but the ones that meant the most were from the grooms, who told me they were happy it worked out the way it did and that the service was perfect. Our family is Scandinavian Lutheran and Joe's is Jewish, so I blended both traditions and Joe's brother-in-law even brought glasses for the grooms to break at the end of the ceremony. We were surrounded by over 100 friends, family and assorted folks--and Brewster, the grooms' dog, even walked down the aisle with his pet-sitter! I felt so honored to be part of this wedding, which was 28 years in the making. Mark and Joe are one of the strongest couples I know, and I know they will be together forever. They also are a living example of the power of love--as the joy that showed in both their faces just lit up the room. What a great day!

For the purposes of singing opera on Glee (not at the Metropolitan Opera House) he could do a very convincing job of it. Bocelli is a fine example of what you are saying. And people always point out to me that Freddie sang opera. No, he did not. He sang with an opera singer. Dressed as an opera singer. In an operatic style number. With orchestra, chorus, etc like opera in concert. But, he, himself, tho' an extraordinary rock frontman, did NOT sing opera. If people watch that and are raving about his accomplishment, Adam singing an aria would boggle their minds. And mine, for that matter. Close enough for a TV musical soap opera, and wow, would it sound great, no matter that it is not authentic opera.
