That's why my kids asked me to read it. They said the book reminded them of us, the adamtopians.. You have very smart children. I have often contemplated quoting some of the passages about "rêveurs" here because her descriptions really make you understand why being a fan is so special; that it is not just about the object of your devotion but the connection it engenders with others and how special it is to belong. My kids have heard so much about our group ,that they were ,you must read this book and they handed it to me. I wish I could just reprint that whole chapter here..  I agree about the connection and how special it is to belong.I am addicted to the group as much as I am to Adam.I spend so much time listening,writing ,feeling.. It's quite amazing. |

Yes. Wonderful book and I loved the part about the "rêveurs", who followed the circus around identifying themselves by wearing red scarves and ultimately formed a community. Reminds me so much of us. That's why my kids asked me to read it. They said the book reminded them of us, the adamtopians.. Hahaha! Me too! My daughter gave it to me last winter and I loved it! |
