One great thing about The Voice this season is that they had Ryan Teddar write a coronation song and it is worse than "No Boundaries"! So Adam and Kris lose the dubious honor of singing the worse coronation song ever! I thought the song One Republic sang on The Voice tonight sounded alot like P2's Home. My favorite performance of the evening was the awesome duet of Lady Gaga & XTina singing Do What You Want With My Body! Ryan Teddar also wrote the totally awful "winner's song" that Tessanne had to sing. The one with the "elephant in the room". My high point were Tessanne and Celine Dion. I thought the Gaga-Xtina duet was kind of boring -- but I have trouble liking Xtina. |

First of all, I sincerely apologize for putting out the Voice spoiler...it was entirely unintentional. It surprise me actually that people do not pay for the 'time shift' option as IMHO, it by far gives you your best 'bang for your entertainment buck'...if you live in the Western regions of the continent, at any rate....so I live in Adam time but watch most of my media choices early. I would really suggest you look into it...I pay an additional $5 per month to have access to prime time shows at 5 and 6 pm....and again at 8 or 9 ... Second, it was really great to see Celine Dion get some respect! She seems to be a 'joke' to a lot of people...and I think that is often really unfair. She does not flaunt or substitute sex for talent, she looks after her voice, she works hard, and is extraordinarily talented. Third...just for the record, put me in the 'liked it' camp for the Gaga-Aguilera performance. It was the only group/pair performance worthy of the same stage as the Chin/Dion one...for my money. It was not as vocally accomplished, but it was very good and entertaining to me. I don't have to 'like' either of them to enjoy them...and at least they can both sing, in tune, live...and to me, that is important on this kind of show. There has been lots of talk about Katy Perry and I am inclined to like her quite a bit...she seems to be a sweet caring human being...and much nicer than Xtina....but seriously, she does not hold a candle to either Celine or Xtina, or even Gaga, as a songstress. Sorry....just my opinion and not worth a whole bunch  |
