I wish the main American press would have articles on Adam winning two chinese music awards....How about a mention in BillBoard?

I wish the main American press would have articles on Adam winning two chinese music awards....How about a mention in BillBoard? I would not expect much coverage of these awards in the mainstream music or general US press. The Chinese music market is #19 in recorded music sales (so not that important from a business standpoint) and the major non-Asian stars who appear at these awards (and win them) are paid to appear. Someday a Chinese award program will emerge as a major award program, but that has not happened yet. The was coverage in some online US press -- for example: www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/08/china-huading-awards-nicolas-cage-nicole-kidman_n_4062629.htmlAvril Lavigne won the big music award. This is nice exposure for Adam in China, I am sure he had fun and he certainly was well paid. Plus, I think Adam and his team are smart to continue to keep him high profile in China. The market will emerge as an important market over the course of Adam's career. Next year these awards are in LA -- so it will be interesting to see if they get more attention and if they give Adam an award when they are here. |
