Since I weigh on Saturday, wanted to check in and say that I lost 4.2 (Yay, for digital scales). My ridiculous plan seems to be working for me and as I said earlier, I am glad to have this thread to check in with since it holds me accountable. Don't know why I didn't participate other years. Well, better late than never, I guess. I am going to lunch with a friend this week and I hope that doesn't derail me too much. It is one of my 2 allowed days to 'eat' during the month.

Checking in.
Thanks for the lunch ideas! I have been more mindful this week of lunches and planning out a simple lunch in the morning. Very helpful and gives me something to look forward to.
That was a great picture of the fox in the rain. I HATE walking in the cold, and I hate walking in the rain, and when there is cold rain, I just can't make myself do it. Fortunately that is not too often around here. This week it has been fabulous and I have walked every day and went to aerobics twice.
Following my Texercise walking program, I am back to where I was before the holidays and ready to start working on milestone 5 of 12. This will be walking 1.5 miles in 29 minutes.
On the healthy eating, I didn't make it to the farmer's market but I did buy nice produce at the grocery store. I made a nice beef stew with lots of vegetables on Monday, and tonight I'm trying a new chicken recipe that bakes with sweet potatoes, onions, apples, and raisins. If it turns out to be good I'll post it here. Hope everyone had a great week!

Wednesday - Check in Day
Yeah I'm down 2 but that's within my normal fluctuation since I was up one yesterday. Did fairly well on the food front but so-so on exercise.
Good job everyone on week 1, let's see how week 2 went for everyone.
eta: waves to scotia & juniemoon up above, I've got to go looking for new walking shoes, mine are hurting my feet, I think they are half a size too big.

Checking in....down only half a pound...so 3.5 in total.......and have nothing but excuses, that have no merit, as one can do exercising at home in the cold, without weights or equipment. And I have a home gym and still did not work out but a few times! I was puppy sitting for 4 days and was walking 3x per day with the dog on the good days. (about 2hrs in total) But between the dogs walking, short sprints and sniff/pee breaks, was only sweaty one of those days. haha. NICA....THE FOX....EXACTLY how I felt as well. I got caught in that stuff twice! The weather has not been stellar around here and we had a huge snowfall one day, and twice when I was out with the dog we had rare occurrences. Two days in a row--- just as I am bundled up and out for a few minutes with the puppy....the sun disappears...sky clouds over...wind picks up, and in a matter of ten minutes, it starts pelting rain which turns to sleet (which actually hurts - so I pick up the 9 pound dog, cover her with my scarf ,and run for home.) That is followed by a snow blizzard....then to a nice falling snow, to no snow falling all in 8 hours. (the wind actually blew out windows on a downtown building...closing down several streets) I did get some exercise clearing the snow off the driveway! We have crazy weather at times, and today we have chinook winds that blow in from the mountains, which give us breaks from the cold and snow. High today 8C/46F. Far cry from the weekend. Well so much for the weather report... now to do a workout of some type.
Keep on truckin' troup!

Hi. I did pretty well working out. Pleasantly surprised to say I am down 3 lbs!!!
I have discovered that I am not as hungry in the evenings as I am at noon but it is usually dinner that I plan the bigger meal for my family. Realizing this makes me plan to have small dinner portions, or even just save it for lunch leftovers and eat something lighter.

Great to see everyone doing so well!
Down only .4 lbs this week, but it's the first time going down since about a month ago, so I'll take it! It's a start. Just came back from a 6 km/3.7 mi walk and get to have some physio later which will help with the muscles. Slowly getting back on track. Have a curling tournament this weekend so will be getting lots of exercise although missing one of my walks.
Hope everyone has another great week!

I'm down 1.4 lbs. I've been doing that salad in jar idea and it's been working pretty well. I have only made them the night before but that seems to be working out ok. I may try making the weeks worth this Sunday and see if they hold up ok.

Well, weighed in today and was up 1.4 lbs. My fault, because I have been a little out of control and did almost no exercising. I know better, but mostly ate too much fruit. Back to eating better!!!

I gained .8 of a pound. I know I am kidding myself by recording it in decimals but that is how my digital scale reads and it makes me feel better not thinking I gained a whole pound. That sounds totally ridiculous!! My lunch out this week as usual turned into more eating later in the day. If I could just have lunch and leave it at that, it’s be great. But since I’ve always had a problem with all or nothing, I continue to eat more during the day since I have already ‘blown’ it. Coming here causes me to weigh each Sat. and this at least helps me know where I stand as before I could go 3 months without getting on the scale. Ignorance is bliss! Stardust, I echo your last sentence above, but unfortunately, in my case, it wasn’t fruit....but sweets

Wednesday - Check InI've been down all week but we've had pizza since the NFL playoff so I'm trying to be good with the leftovers. We'll see what the scale says in the morning. Even my neighbor has been bit by the salad in a jar craze (blaming facebook) so while I was preparing my lunch salad today I put the same thing in a jar for tomorrow. Today I was really energetic for my trainer-led workout - unusual for me. I'm putting my morning eats here to see if I can duplicate again next time. Up at 7am, 1 1/2 cups protein drink mix 7:30-9:00, oatmeal/raisin cookie (subway brand) at 10, halk a mini-bagel with light cream cheese at 11:30, workout at noon. See ya all tomorrow, I have to zoom around chappy's cake a couple thousand more times before morning.
