IMO maybe Adam should have someone in the audience area listening for any sound problems at the soundcheck...maybe one of the mgmt people. Seems like there is a problem with audience sound every show. j/s I do not think that would help. Which seat do you set up the sound for? There is no perfect sound for any physical space -- but Biloxi was pretty close to perfect in the center balcony where the soundboard was located. And for most concerts that is where the sound will be best. As a audience member there is usually a trade off -- good sound mix/lack of distortion or close to the stage. And the seats/standing on the sides of any venue will have some level of distortion. There are some venues with better acoustics than others but the multi-purpose spaces are usually not the best. Most arenas are designed for clear line of sight for basketball and hockey. The MGM Grand (Vegas) was designed for boxing. The Biloxi Hard Rock venue was design for MMA. Etc. These are sports venues that they book concerts in -- the acoustics are just not great. A few venues -- Nokia NY and LA for example -- were designed for music/theater and were designed for performances. I find the sound in these venues is the best.

While we are waiting for more concert vids to appear I thought this concept was rather interesting and reminds me of the Glambert movement in general. Definitely Glamberts. And gay marriage rights and acceptance. Adam was a bit like the shirtless dance leader, especially after the AMA performance. I feel like it might be more "acceptable" now to be an Adam fan with the whole climate change in the U.S. That's my own opinion based on nothing. It just seems like it's probably even more easy for straight men to support their gay brothers without being assumed to be gay themselves. It all just seems a little freer--for men in particular.

Yes, Q3, it's impossible to get sound perfect for a whole venue. This is true in classical/theater performances as well. In classical music we don't have the variabilities caused by amplification. If a listener sits under a balcony or in front of a wall, the sound changes. Even if we get the balance to work in a rehearsal, when butts are in seats, it's a different ball game. The acoustics change when bodies are present to absorb sound. Many of the venues that Adam performs in are not built with acoustics as a priority. When concert halls are designed, it's a huge consideration. Architects who specialize in this try to create a space that reacts similarly when there is an audience or no audience.

A few venues -- Nokia NY and LA for example -- were designed for music/theater and were designed for performances. I find the sound in these venues is the best. The recent Leonard Cohen show I went to at Palais Theatre had the best sound I've heard for years at any show (and I see a lot of shows at that theatre). The level of attention to detail they paid to ensuring the sound was the way they wanted it was amazing. They put extra speakers at the back to bounce the sound, they put black material over the edge of balcony to stop the sound from bouncing back to the stage - and a whole bunch of other little things. So any even good venues (and Palais acoustics are good but can be really screwed up if sound guys don't adjust for venue) can be made better with some care and attention. Adam seems like a perfectionist with sound - constantly adjusting, so even though people sometimes have issues can only imagine how much worse it would be with an artist who doesn't have that sensitivity.
