"Hair" - 2003 European Tour
Adam Lambert is hired by Wolfgang Bocksch Concerts
for the European tour of the musical "Hair".
He plays Margaret Mead, the tourist lady,
and is the understudy for Claude.
He's a member of the Tribe.
The show travels to Berlin and spends nearly 6
months there. They, also, perform in Hamburg
and Munich. They perform for 1 week each in
Amsterdam and Italy.
"I think anyone who does “Hair” gets really invested in
the meaning and the message and the whole community
feel of it. I was really close with everybody and there
was a lot of discovery and a lot of free-love mentality. I
was discovering a lot about myself. Sex, drugs and rock
'n' roll, a lot of it."

"I wanted my life, at that time, to mirror
the themes of the show. I wanted to
explore them for myself. I got naked in
the show. I was smoking a lot of pot.
I was a hippie in Germany. I was having
a blast! I was exploring my sexuality a
lot more aggressively.I was living like a
Rock Star lifestyle. I tried a lot of
things. I went to a couple of raves.
I went to some very bizarre clubs. It
was a big eye-opener for me. I lost my
virginity at 21 years old and it was to a
man, not a woman. It wasn't very good.
(Adam laughs.) Sometimes, it takes a
little while to learn how to do that
correctly."
