He travels with both. Sometimes at the same time, sometimes they trade off gigs. The guy is Rob and I forget the woman's name. They work for DMG, his management. Direct Management Group ETA: He used to have a guy called Dana all the time but Dana hasn't been around much lately. Thanks. What does a management company do for him? It's obviously separate from the record label. Are they the ones that find and book performances, arrange travel and equipment shipments, etc.? This should help to answer a few questions…. Adam's bookings (concerts) are handled by CAA Creative Artists Agency. DMG Direct Management Group specializes in Music Management - they play a key role in guiding/developing an artist's strategy, helping them manage their business to maximize earnings and/or achieve their goals, and handle most of the logistics. DMG also oversees the financial aspects of Adam business relationships -- like making sure RCA pays what they should pay Adam. DMG is also is responsible for Adam's promotional strategy and helping Adam get and select the right promotional opportunities. Most importantly, DMG plays a key role in developing a business strategy that will achieve Adam's goals -- IDing the right partners, and build the right relationships. >> Adam is not typical and takes a very active role in strategy, promotion and business management. And he is managing his team, not the other way around. The travel and equipment shipments related to touring are handled by someone who works for Adam. He also employs the band, dancers, etc. and pays for the sound and tech crew. When Adam was on tour, he employed a tour manager and crew. Adam also is responsible for the transportation of everyone. ETC. For Trespassing, Adam was responsible for hiring the talent, managing the deals with producers, selecting photographers, etc. and staying on budget. He is basically running a business which is complex and much larger than I believe most fans realize. And from what I can tell, Adam is running most of it directly -- not through intermediaries. For example, he really was Exec Producer for Trespassing, that was not just a title he negotiated. |
