OT technical help? My laptop that holds my iTunes application died, taking with it every non-iTunes mp3 or music file. I've lost every unofficial Adam song. I've lost every video..,I've lost EVERYTHING that wasn't officially iTunes media (not stored in the cloud). During a routine iOS update, my laptop ran out of memory and destroyed my phone, and I had to reset to ground zero and restore a phone backup from the cloud, which didn't have all the non- iTunes stuff of it. I couldn't restore a backup from my computer, because the computer died right then! So I lost everything on my phone and my computer at the same time, and could only get back official iTunes media. Stupid me. I thought backing up my phone on my computer was good enough. We do have a rudimentary home network, and the contents of my laptop may have been backed up some time ago to an ancient server in our basement, lol. So if I get a decent laptop there is a possibility there is a copy of some my media sitting downstairs somewhere ...and I could import all those files back into iTunes on a new computer if I get one and if I figure out how to do it... But in the meantime I need Adam media on my phone now! It will be a while before I can get a decent laptop. So how can I download mp3s or mp4s straight to my PHONE (ie non-iTunes files); and where is the most complete list of Adam music that is mobile-friendly? (I don't want to just steam stuff, I want the audio files actually on my phone) And how do I back this stuff up on my phone without a computer to plug it into?? /techno-challenged. I can't offer phone help, only condolences on the dead computer. You are reminding me to get my own laptop backed up. Good luck for rebuilding everything.

I know very little about this tech stuff. But I wanted to use your tragedy to remind others about backing up files. I had thousands of pics on the little cards that go in your camera... SD somethings. I thought having a copy on my computer and the other on the little drive was enough. Nope. Lost some when I changed computers, and now have lost the SD cards. Probably accidentally got swept into the trash during a desk and file cleaning. Sigh. So, yesterday I got an external hard drive (My Passport) and backed up all my photos, music, videos, and Adam miscellaneous. This little thing the size of a passport holds one terrabyte of info. I have no concept of how much that is except that I will never take that many pics or have that many songs. Very easy to do, and inexpensive. I recommend it strongly. Now, I only have to remember to update it regularly. I will add that to my New Year's resolutions for happier and healthier living.

Damn, I have just been informed by my husband that no, my little laptop probably hasn't been backed up because it's not part of our official home network. So what is our "home network", I ask? Umm, the main laptop in the office, he says. So it's a network of one then, I say. No, two! He says...the main one and the server, lol. But not any of the other laptops floating around the house, I ask. Well no, I didn't think they were important, he says. The irony here is that my husband is a network specialist. Like, he designs and supports corporate networks. But I'll forgive him because he did keep my laptop on life support for a short time, playing whack-a-mole with various CPU processes to try and keep it going long enough to transfer over a backup from the computer to my phone...but the computer died in the middle despite his best efforts.

Avari, there are several fansites that contain the non iTunes media. Terra on twitter www.adamwiki.org has many many DL's and is one of the best. Perhaps you can go there on your phone and DL her stuff directly to your phone, depending on how much memory you have available on your phone. Cloud tech will store many things, but sometimes the Cloud is fussy about storing unofficial mp3 DL's Unfortunately, sometimes these things disappear after a while. Another option is to have someone burn CD's for you containing the info, or send files to you over sendspace or something like that if you find that you do not have these files stored elsewhere once you get your computer up and running. (I am willing. PM me if you have trouble finding your back up files and I will do what I can for you) The only way I have been able to get the non iTunes media to my phone has been through that direct link from computer to phone. The other thing I did this year was invest in an iPod Classic, 160GB. There is no running out of space on this thing, it is not dependent on the internet or the Cloud and holds every single song I ever put into iTunes. Best investment in my music I ever made. Good luck. And sorry about this travesty. It's just some kind of awful to lose EVERYTHING on your computer!!

I've lost so much stuff on different computers and phones over the years. Now I just keep a flash drive plugged in and back up new stuff each day. It takes seconds. Once a month I do a major backup to my passport. Between the two, I was able to restore all my stuff the last time I experienced a computer meltdown. I know the absolute dire feeling of losing everything. Sorry to hear it happened to you!
I'll be donating to Charity Water for Adam's birthday unless he comes up with a idea of his own. I love this organization and their accountability. Also, it doesn't hurt that Adam is an out and proud Aquarian. I've always thought that Adam would be highly flattered if his fans just gave willingly without prompting from him -- a grassroots birthday donation drive.

How can we update this for Adam's 32nd birthday.. like to give in his name starcrush.com/adam-lambert-birthday-charity/ hmmm maybe Adam will give us a charity in his name.. confusing

Avari, I believe MrsMyn has everything conceivable related to Adam all backed up here on the site. Not sure which location. But she has spent an inordinate amount of time doing this. Where is she? I haven't seen her posting for awhile.

It's so cool that Adam is giving us these hints about his big news. I think it's because he wants his fans to be the first to know--it's a way of showing his appreciation for all our support. However, if we've guessed wrong, I hope he lets us know in a tweet. (I'm still not understanding how lava "drifts".) Otherwise, it might be a let down when the real news came out.
