This music timeline will make you feel ancient dailyemerald.com/2014/01/15/this-music-timeline-will-make-you-feel-ancient/Adam mention: With every passing year, the young begin to feel more ancient. Nirvana is classic rock, Uncle Phil has passed on and many of this year’s incoming high school freshmen were born in 2000. Perhaps nowhere does time flash by more quickly than in the fickle world of popular music. Here are five musical events you might remember from five years ago and 10 from 10 years ago — even if you forgot how much time has passed since then. ..... 2 . Kris Allen beats Adam Lambert for the title of American Idol (May 20). Last we heard from Adam Lambert, he was collaborating with Queen and breaking down barriers as the first openly gay artist to debut an album at number one on the Billboard chart. Last we heard from Kris Allen, he beat Adam Lambert on American Idol.Ouch!! Poor Kris!

Watching a bit of American Idol.. JLO is sending some contestants to Hollywood without the input from the guys.. She waves the ticket and says yes before they even get a voice..IMHO, I see trouble on the judges panel if this continues.. :

She waves the ticket and says yes before they even get a voice..IMHO, I see trouble on the judges panel if this continues.. : I just watched all of American Idol and had totally the opposite impression. The chemistry between the 3 judges was really, really good! They had me in stiches laughing a few times. The few times JLo says yes and hands out the ticket without an apparent vote from the other two, it was obvious from what the other two had said that it would be a yes. And lets remember that these auditions are heavily edited. They guys may have actually given a yes and it was edited out. ETA - There were a few singers they sent through that I just did not get. For me the 3 standouts tonight were 1) the guy singing Stevie Wonder's Superstition with an air-guitar intro, 2) the girl who wrote and sang a song about when her granddad had a heart attack while she was performing on stage - the song was really emotional, and 3) the 1st 17 year heart-throb boy that HC Jr said his daughters would go wild for.

Queen on Robinson tablet computer interrupts TV debate
A heated debate reviewing PMQs was interrupted by the sound of Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen suddenly coming from Nick Robinson's tablet computer. MPs Caroline Flint and Shailesh Vara were arguing about banking bonuses when the BBC political editor's machine played the track live on BBC2's Daily Politics. The pair declined his request for them to name song lyrics, and Andrew Neil went back to play referee in the political debate.
