The Roller Coaster Series : I'M SKATING MOTHERFUCKERS !!So Adam tweeted a video of himself ice-skating . Good thing he didn't fall , lol . I remember the first time (and last time) I went Ice-skating . I think I was like 7-8 years old . I was good with roller-skates , so I figured that ice-skating would be easy for me , too .
Biggest. Mistake. EVER.I've never fallen so much in my life . I swear my butt was touching the ground almost all the time , it was like there was a magnet in the ice . Once , I was gonna fall forward , naturally , I put my hands in front of me to protect my face/head/chest , but because the floor was ICE , My hands slipped when they touched the ice and I landed face-first on the floor . My jaw was purple for the rest of the week . PLUS I was wearing a mini-skirt all that time .Theme song for the day : "On The Floor" By J-Lo .
Oh they are soooo different! I been there too, but in reverse! An ice skater on roller blades. Yipes!! |

Adam wasn't ice skating he was just moving his feet wearing ice skates. I heard that there were some nasty remarks made to him, and he was angry. This whole event in Aspen, wasn't on Adam's bucket list, of things to do. He does none of those sports, and before he went we were all teasing , about him having hot toddies around the fire, with his friends. Well, that didn't seem to happen. Most of the stuff was outside, and he had to be there since he was one of the hosts. If his ex had been there, he would have thought he had died and gone to heaven, this was definitely something he would have enjoyed, far better than Adam did. But he stayed home and made cup cakes. I think this event is something that Adam might like to do in Miami again, rather than in the snowy mountains. Hope he is home now, and this is just a memory, that he is sleeping off. Got to give him credit for even trying on a pair of skates, and also sitting on that metal chair in the cold weather. But he is a good sport about most things.  Adam did not "have to be there". He chose to be there. And he was not one of the event hosts, he was hosting an event at Bootsy Bellows. He could have just flown in for that event. Looked to me like he was having a good time in Aspen. Sometimes it is not fun to be at a ski resort when you are a non-skier. Even the nice resorts (like Aspen) are "rustic" compared to the equivalent versions of golf or beach-side resorts. At least this event had non-skiing activities planned. And as far as Adam not skating -- he put on skates and got on the ice. That is skating in my book. Not well, but skating. My guess is that Adam thought (like Kamar and many other people) that because he can roller skate (IMO much easier), he could ice skate. I used to teach people how to ice skate and the hardest people to teach were adults, and people who knew how to roller skate. Adam is both an adult and knows how to roller skate. Once someone gets on the ice and gets used to the balance, they are over the hard part. If Adam was angry, it may have been because learning to ice skate at 31 is really hard -- much harder than people who learned to skate as children think. Ice skating comes down to body control, rhythm/timing and mental focus. My guess is Adam could be a pretty good ice skater if he chose to be. People who can dance, who are musicians, and who are physically flexible usually can become excellent ice skaters. |
