I am wondering if the secrecy behind Daft Punk robots, is that both of them are gay. They want to show off the hypocracy of the record industry. Hah, the irony of it all. Would love to see the faces behind the robots. Not really a fan of Get Lucky as it is too repetitive, but the mashup on the Grammys was great. You can't look at someone and tell they are gay so I don't get how them wearing helments is about them being secretly gay...unless they have tattoos on their foreheads that say I'm Gay. The helments are their schtick, nothing more. It sets them apart from all the other electronic artists. It also allows them to go about their daily lives unrecognized. All the benefits of fame without any of the hassles. Glitter, I noticed that too, but I don't think that is what was meant. If they remain unknown, then they don't have to live in the public eye, and if they happen to be gay (which we of course don't know, but to be honest, did come to me as a thought as well), then they can live their private life, without having to watch their backs on who might see them. Secondly, if, as we have discussed here, there is still a very strong anti-gay bias in the music business, in the sense that lip service is given to gay causes, but in reality, music by LGBT members is still discriminated against by radio, major label, by sponsors, etc., then staying under helmet is an interesting variation on staying closeted. Again, we do not know that they are gay, they may not be, and are just guarding their privacy, or they may be straight, but somehow have other reasons to not reveal themselves. I.e. if somebody happens to not be very attractive and would get no chance in this fickle business because of this either, then a helmet could work. Or the singer belongs to a famous family and does not want to draw attention to this. We don't know, what their reason is, Smokeyvera was just saying that gay could be a possible one.

They are probably not gay... Here is their wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daft_Punk "Bangalter is married to French actress Élodie Bouchez, with whom he has two sons. De Homem-Christo seems to not be married. There are some conflicting posts about him. Some say he is married to Maar Beauregard.
