I watched Garth Brooks' show from Las Vegas about a month ago where he previewed the album and sang covers of many of the artists who had influenced him, and explained why. It was very high-energy and he spotlighted those who had, over the years, defied the music industry and labels to fight for their own creativity and musical innovation.
Brooks has always been known for his highly personal lyrics and independent way of doing things. He's always incorporated a lot of different influences into his work, and he did mention Queen in the show that I watched.
It was the same night Adam was at the Britney Spears thing and I couldn't help but think of the irony, actually. There couldn't be two more different artists in the music business than Britney, who seems little more than a zombie, and Brooks.

Was just flipping channels and stopped and watched. really good show and I'm not a big country fan. Just like a few artists like Willie, Patsy and Hank, etc. Think I will add Garth! |

Aaack!  I must be going cookoo! Can't believe I just ordered one of the signed Adam Wolf prints! OMG! How am I going to explain this?!? Where can I put it without enduring eye rolls every time we pass it?  Even more importantly....who am I going to leave it to in my will?!  |
