Adam Lambert again is top choice for act readers want to see at Musikfest

Two weeks ago, after Bethlehem's Musikfest festival announced its fourth act and third country music offering with Keith Urban (Hunter Hayes later canceled), Lehigh Valley Music asked its readers who they would want to see headline a show at Musikfest.

And we got a familiar response: "American Idol" alum Adam Lambert.

Lambert's fans have been loudly advocating a return engagement for the singer ever since he sold out a 2010 headline show at Musikfest, and they returned in force again when asked to pick the lineup for this year's Musikfest, which runs Aug. 1-10.

Almost a quarter of all our responses asked for Musikfest to get back Adam Lambert.

"He last made an appearance in August 2010 as a stop on his GlamNation Tour -- I believe it was a sell-out, which is a common thing where ever he sings," reader Paula Thibault said in an impassioned plea.

In all, readers suggested 65 different acts for Musikfest, with Lambert leading the pack. Others who got multiple requests included New York gypsy punk band Gogo Bordello, contemporary jazz group The Rippertons, punkers Social Distortion and 1980s alternative rock band The Pixies.
