Is there something in the water today, everywhere?
Seems like everyone is panicking and escalating to the n-th degree, before anything is even certain.
Regarding IT problems: As somebody who has tons of IT experience, I can tell you. Whipping the horse that is working on your problem, does not help. As long as your problem does not get acknowledged, I can surely understand the frustration, but guys...they know they have a problem, now they need to go fix it. What do you want them to do this afternoon? Empty their inbox from hundreds of over-eager fans reporting the damn-same thing they already know....or actually work on the problem?
Its funny, this is such a US habit. Here is another example, just from today: My husband just got out of a meeting, where some 'problem' led to an emergency meeting Friday afternoon - always fun, I know. But the facts were not yet available. So here you have all these senior executives, who know nothing about the problem, try to somehow suggest what needs to be done next and they talk themselves into a frenzy, when the only thing that needs to happen, is letting the darn IT guys that can work on the problem, out of that stupid meeting room, so they can get some work done, and the rest will just have to wait, because nothing else can be done about it. (Whatever needed to happen to stop the bleeding, was already done, it was just about researching how it happened and what needed to be done to avoid it in the future).
Just let the darn folks do their job for which you hired them in the first place.
Drives me nuts. Got a pill for everything in this country, when all they would need is a chill-pill.
And there is not even anything over at ALFC to do right now. It is not like the tickets are sitting there and we cannot get to them.
Plenty of time to get a sign in problem fixed or pay a bill or do this:
The general question, whether ground ctrl has their act together or not, may have some validity, but it is Adam's and his management's decision, not ours to make. My personal view is, that they have worked well for me so far whenever I needed tickets, and the merchandise stuff also worked, except for redic. shipping charges. My emotional investment in the rest of the site, was never all that high. And until you know there is a better alternative...no point to make yourself unhappy.
Maybe, Adam should have taken that ITT Tech job after all, just to make this bsc fans happy, whaddya think?
Then I come here, and there is a report from ALF about the next exaggeration, this time about Queen having failed in the US, and my first thought is, that maybe it would have been better, if people could not have logged on to ALF, so we would not even have this problem.
Thanks to those here, who have already responded with some facts and put things back into perspective a bit.
Thirdly, we have just dodged this bullet in Arizona, and now there is a new idiot, trying to push some piece of garbage through congress. I am glad, he is loosing supporters, that at least hits them where it hurts.
But back to panicking - which this guy obviously has a serious case of: If you are really concerned about gay people being these terrible monsters that will attack every straight man in the shower room, if that is really what you are thinking, would you not rather know, who around you in the shower room is gay, rather than be surprised by not knowing. How crazy is this? Oh yeah, and separate shower rooms for gays and straights. I guess, Eber was right on the money with his water fountain tweet.
Civil rights battle indeed.
Thank goodness, this guy will not get very far with this, scary to think that it is probably true that he actually could find a few dozen or so supporters in congress who'd go along with this. Thankfully, these seem to be just the final outcries of desperation about a battle that has already been lost. But it is still aggravating that these elements of resistance still have to be fought one by one.
I for one, think I'll go and find myself a cold beer, and then enjoy my weekend, before the next snowstorm is about to roll through.
Now, clearly, that is something to justifiably get worked up about.
