I think some of you are "over thinking" this, probably because of the distinction between announcement and press conference.
I think GMA will be the big public "announcement" of the tour.
The MSG event will be a "press conference" for TV/radio/print and online media where questions will be asked/answered and more
detail given. The press conference gives all non-GMA media a stake in getting the story out. There can't be too much media.
