since I have not seen Queen yet I'm good with the same set list as before but do you think they might tweak it? What might they add or subtract? They discuss that in the video right above you I listened just pondering how much tweaking might happen :DDD

I was off island yesterday and had several opportunities to mention the QAL concert....in Vancouver in my area. Without exception, people either already knew or were really excited to hear of it. When I told them Adam was the frontman, also without exception they only knew/remembered Adam from AI...but their memories were complimentary. I know at least some of them will check it out and likely purchase tickets....Oh I forgot...one of them was already actively listing to a local radio station that is giving ticket away.... The thing is, there are a lot of people that will be hearing Adam for the first time ever, or since American Idol. If he can get A3 out shortly after this tour, it will get a huge boost, IMHO.....

Rolling Stone @rollingstone From "Killer Queen" to (duh) "Bohemian Rhapsody," your picks for the 10 best Queen songs of all time: rol.st/1cQxESwLast week, Queen + Adam Lambert announced details of their American summer tour. "This is the closest that you'll ever get to see Queen as it was in our golden days," said guitarist Brian May. "But it's not a reproduction." The group pledged to center their show around Queen's large catalog of hits, though they did say they wanted to revive some deeper cuts like "Dragon Attack." In honor of the tour, we asked our readers to select their 10 favorite Queen songs. Click through to see the results. 10. 'I Want to Break Free' 9. 'Killer Queen' 8. 'The Show Must Go On' 7. 'Under Pressure' 6. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" 5. "Who Wants to Live Forever" 4. "Somebody to Love" 3. "Don't Stop Me Now" 2. "Fat Bottomed Girls" 1. "Bohemian Rhapsody"

since I have not seen Queen yet I'm good with the same set list as before but do you think they might tweak it? What might they add or subtract? No matter what Brian says in the vids about being adventurous, I would bet it will still be fairly close to the 2012 set with some tweaks and perhaps order changes. Brian has often talked about being "adventurous" but there are quite a few songs they feel they need to perform. A good bar would be to look at the differences between the Queen + Paul Rodgers sets from Europe and then in North America (minus the PR songs of course). You might get Days Of Our Lives, A Kind Of Magic , and Break Free taken off. DEFINITES: Bohemian Rhapsody We Will Rock You We Are The Champions Another One Bites The Dust Crazy Little Thing Called Love The Show Must Go On Tie Your Mother Down Love Of My Life Radio Ga Ga PROBABLES: Dragon Attack (due to Adam's like) Who Wants To Live Forever (again due to Adam) Fat Bottomed Girls Somebody To Love Under Pressure Don't Stop Me Now A Roger Track of some kind (I'm In Love With My Car, A Kind of Magic) HOPEFUL: A Brian singalong track (like what he did on Hammersmith) Killer Queen (Seems to be bubbling along as possible) Save Me (seems to fit Adam) Is This The World We Created (Brian's been doing this with Kerry so he's been playing it who knows...) Seven Seas/Keep Yourself Alive Now I'm Here (used to be a Queen STAPLE but hasn't been done since 1998 on Brian's solo tour) Doubtful but I'd love: Innuendo Spread Your Wings Heaven For Everyone (w/Roger singing) Too Much Love Will Kill You Breakthru Was It All Worth It White Queen Prophet's Song It's Late Tenement Funster (w/Roger singing) No-One But You Say It's Not True (w/all 3 taking lines) Let Me Live (w/all 3 taking lines) Liar

When I told them Adam was the frontman, also without exception they only knew/remembered Adam from AI...but their memories were complimentary. The thing is, there are a lot of people that will be hearing Adam for the first time ever, or since American Idol. If he can get A3 out shortly after this tour, it will get a huge boost, IMHO..... I have mentioned it a little as well. It is funny what has happened over the years about Queen. I'm obviously speaking only from my own perspective. I was very young when Queen had their day in the sun in the US, just a junior high/high school student. Everyone knew the big stadium rock hits and sang them on the school bus. But, it was not cool to be a fan of Queen otherwise, at least not where I was. Their band name and Freddie's sexual orientation saw to that. It would have been social death to be a Queen fan. You would have had to be college age or older to stand the gaff. Also, Freddie's amazing singing ability was somewhat taken for granted. Back then, being able to sing great was a requirement for fronting a rock band. There were a lot of rock bands you could be a fan of and a lot of great singers fronting them. As the years have gone by, a lot of attitudes have changed, both about sexuality and about singing. Openly gay people are less rare and great singers are more rare. Freddie has become recognized as one of the all time great singers. Many people have not thought about Queen in a long time, but that is now the one thing that most people know about them. So when they hear that Queen is taking to the road again, they say, "But who is singing?!" And when they hear it is Adam, they may or may not know who he is. A lot of people here, I find, don't know who he is. But nonetheless they feel impressed. They think that person must be a great singer, because Queen oughta know.
So this is a huge step forward in the story of Adam Lambert, the great singer. In the eyes of people who know about Queen, it is like being blessed. Again, just my experience.

The press conference is edited and the questions are removed. Here are the parts about the setlist, set and a couple other tidbits I liked. It may not be perfect. **** Brian: This is a combination that we believe works really well. Brian: One of the great things about Adam is that he's never an imitator. He finds his own way with the songs. And that's what we all want. We want our music to be alive and dangerous and still open to change. You know Freddie particularly would hate to have things kind of reproduced as the way they were. We take it to a different place. It's exciting. And I don't think we would do it if we didn't think we were were actually going into new territory. And every time we work with Adam we do that. So I am very happy. We're up for anything. We'll look at the whole catalog and see what we can pull off. You know we were saying early on is what needs to happen is we need to be happy amongst ourselves, we need to be comfortable. Adam needs to be comfortable, challenged but comfortable. And yeah, I think we will look at all the albums and see It's all about live. What is going to work live. What is going to be fun for us and the audience. What's going to push people a little dangerous. fun for people. Roger: We are very aware of what we think people want to hear -- obviously a lot of the big hits. Brian (sort of joking): The big problem is we have too many hits. (Adam laughs) It's really embarrassing. (Adam laughs) *** Brian: Roger came up with a very interesting idea which I will not divulge at this moment, but it's a very interesting set design, ah Adam: I saw pictures, it's amazing. It's so cool. Brian: And it's big and a bit daring and I think people will like it. You know, we're known for doing big stuff you know. You know, our motto used to blind them and leave them gasping on the floor. Or something like that. Or leave them wanting more. We don't do this every day so we want to do it to the max. ..... (Taking about the first concert Kiev..." Brian: Everything that is worth doing is a little scary. RECOMMEND WATCHING THE WHOLE VIDEO!!
