Wow, I got a fantastic surprise this morning! Mom (WacoScorpio) and I are going to the Dallas show and like everyone else, we tore our hair out during presale 'ticket roulette'. The first pair which appeared was Diamond VIP, row G, center. Good enough! Later that day I looked again, wanting to be even closer, and picked up a couple of Ultimate VIPs, row C, center. It's the only QAL I'm attending and was a little bummed that Dallas didn't have the 'thrust' layout. This morning while catching up on Atop I saw a pic of tickets sold so far... lo and behold, the catwalk now appears for the Dallas show! And the first pair of tickets is exactly where we wanted to be-- first row at the tip of the thrust! Row G, baby! Do any of you know if the thrust might impede a good view of the main stage? Part of me wants to also keep the row C tickets and move back and forth between the seats as stage action dictates-- if that is even possible. Part of me would feel like a jerk for doing that though. PS-- Mom is going to Vegas and still needs a single ticket for the Saturday show... Why not wait to decide? The set will be unveiled in Chicago and you can look at it, seem what people think and then make a choice. Ahh. A sensible course of action Thanks! That's what we'll do.

And I firmly believe there will be a single while we wait! Seems to me there are two basic schedule possibilities....both put the album release in Fall -- Sept-November 2014. 1. Single released in May 2014, QAL June-July, album release in Sept 2014. 2. Something we do not know about happens in April - May 2014, QAL June-July, single debuted on some high profile TV appearance (my money is on MTV VMA's August 24, 2014), album released early November 2014. >> My money is also on a QAL Live album and DVD release. Out for the 2014 Holiday gift buying season. >> I go with #2: August single - early November album. BUT I think they probably do not have release dates set yet. If they have released dates they are very tentative. The final date is not usually set until the label accepts the recordings. Why #2/November album? Mostly because this involves Adam "Soonish" Lambert. *** WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT ERA 3?1. Adam is clearly signed to a major label since it is almost certain he is working with Max Martin and/or Shellback. (They work with major label artists.) He is clearly still recording the album. Looks like he was signed in January 2014. > He went to Sweden to start to record and write songs in February. In the QAL interviews he specifically said he was working with a team of producers and songwriters. That means all of the songwriting was not done. 2. They are doing this right this time. So far, the roadmap looks a lot like the relaunch of Katy Perry. (Even down to the possible involvement of Jason Flom who is now at LAVA Records where I believe the Adam clues point and who personally signed Katy Perry to her current contract when he was running Capital Records.) > If they do it right, they will have the whole album before they pick the single. They will also take their time building a foundation for selling this album. > We just got an indication that they have not selected the tracks for A3 (Nile's tweet) assuming that they were talking about A3. > Adam said he was taking his time on this album -- in QAL interviews March 6, 2014. If he finishes in mid-April, they would have the final tracks selected by May. So a single in May is possible. 3. If #2 is right and Adam is signed to UMG/LAVA, then he is touring with his labelmates -- Queen. Queen signed a new global contract with UMG in December 2013 to release remastered music, alternative and unreleased recordings, and new material. The tour of the world's largest music market makes more sense if you think about Queen's untapped market in North America. (They have pretty much saturated the UK where 1 in 3 households owns a copy of Queen's Greatest Hits.) 4. QAL is part of a plan to promote both Adam and Queen. If it did not involve Adam, we would not see things like this... Z100 New York @z100newyork Mar 6 #Glamberts r u ready for @adamlambert & Queen to come to a city near you?! We can barely handle all the awesomeness! bit.ly/1l6CdYs That is the US's #1 Top 40 (CHR) radio station. One of many involved in promoting this. And, it appeared to me that they led this Tour promotion with Adam. Makes sense because that is the new part. But the hot response will just make them more careful with A3 because if it is right, it could be very big. 5. This is a very well staged promotional plan... From February 18th we had this: @shoshannastone: Did we all see part 2 of #AdamOnIdol #mentoring @alalwayz: @shoshannastone Yes! @adamlambert was an amazing mentor! Can't wait for Adam on @rupaulsdragrace & @gleeonfox next week!!!! @shoshannastone: @alalwayz Eye-wink @alalwayz: @shoshannastone : )) #EpicEra3 @shoshannastone: @alalwayz that hasn't even started yet @alalwayz: @shoshannastone OMG! No wonder he said #IntenseforwardMotion!!! Laughing out loud @susansporran: @shoshannastone @alalwayz wow, so this is all still Prelude to Era 3?? Better fasten seat belts when it gets here! 6. Eber tweeted that he know nothing but guessed Fall album release. Then deleted that tweet. > He could have deleted it because it was right, or because it was wrong. I believe it was deleted because it was right. > Eber must have some idea how close Adam is to being done with the album. Q3, Thank you for putting this all together. I have felt that ever since Queen were invited with Adam to Iheartradio in LV that there were well orchestrated plans behind the scenes in play for Adam. Also, i really been enjoying the posts regarding possible Queen tracks for the concert set list, the Queen thread, vocal master class, and many more items here. I will be well educated in Queen by the time I actually see/hear them. I'm grateful to everyone here for making this such a great place!

Couldn't sleep last night, grabbed my ipad and checked out today's thread. 2 am, my time Q3 thank you for all the info on "Nevermore". I first found it when I started researching Queen and Freddie after Adam's BR idol tryout. I absolutely love it and I absolutely would love to hear Adam sing it. I think everyone would I am adding it to my list...it is short and could easily fit into a medley...I agree. Is everyone working on their setlist???? #94: "Nevermore" (1974) Written by Freddie Mercury, recorded in August 1973 at Trident Studios, London. I will start with a song that Queen never performed live, “Nevermore”, and my small tribute to Freddie (Adam I spelled it right!). My guess is that you may not be familiar with this Freddie Mercury composed piano ballad. It is from “Queen II”, an album Queen released before that became massively successful. “Nevermore” is a very short track – only 1:18. It would fit beautifully into a medley with one or two other Queen ballads. If they made me Empress of the setlist, I would have Adam sing “Nevermore” accompanied by piano and little more, as the lead in to Brian performing “Love of My Life”. It would be a wonderful tribute to Freddie and there would not be a dry eye in the arena. “Nevermore” and “Love of My Life” are both musically and lyrically connected. So even though this song would be new to most of the people in the audience, it would be familiar because almost every Queen fan knows “Love of My Life”. Nevermore was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, “The Raven” which was also about someone trying to forget the loss of his love, but whose undying devotion leads to a conflict between the desire to forget and desire to remember.

Sorry for quoting this long post in its entirety, but I have a feeling that deleting any of Q3's words would lead to shrivelling and eventual falling off of my metaphorical balls;) So: If we assume that he signed the major label in January, is it possible that the Adam+Queen tour is their master plan? The timing would fit. Also, we know from that interview, when Adam said that they had agreed, that the invitation had come from Adam's team? Also, Brian said that they had asked for MSG and that other venue, the Joint, so can we assume that only a major label could procure such venues? Provided that the labels are those who book venues, of course, which I don't know, maybe management teams do that. Also, if Adam got signed by a major label, that would be the most logical step, the most efficient way of bringing him back into the limelight - capitalizing on the natural progression of the artistic renaissance between Adam and Queen... And if it happens that Adam and Queen share the label, it's a win-win situation for it. Although I doubt he is going to release a single in the spring, and if he did, the pause between the single release and the album would maybe be too long, it would maybe be better to do so, for a couple of reasons: it would emphasize Adam's own recording career and make a clear distinction between him as a solo artist and him as a temporary Queen frontman, plus they could use the Tour to promote it. On the other hand, that single would be, at least subconsciously, compared to Queen material and I cannot imagine him promoting a dance track, for example, in that context. I don't know. That's why I think it would be best for him to do his best with Queen, and then release the single in autumn, while the media are still in the post-orgasmic bliss...

Not quoting in its entirety but such an interesting scenario. Q3 - you said you thought LMD would be released for late spring and summer. Perhaps that is the pre tour release and Aviici is also clued in.

I don't like that Chandelier track.
Sometimes, when he recommends stuff, and when I add it up with his current engagements, like Glee and Queen, I almost get an anxiety attack because it becomes such a messy cacophony in my head and I get scared that it could happen to him, being subjected to so many influences... How on earth does he manage to shut out all the sounds and create something fresh and new. Sometimes I feel like all the words have already been written, all the notes sung, so how to say anything new? It's a huge block for me. But people keep making beautiful things and my faith in art gets restored:) And it is nothing new, or different sometimes, but it doesn't matter, since beauty can also be in the common, ordinary or imperfect. The strangest thing. So I wonder if Adam will move onto general topics on A3, because I expect that. But I expect him to go about them beautifully, like in Chokehold, or WWFM, not banally, like in NCOE.

There's no seat map so difficult to know how much is sold. But it seems they too have added blocks with bad view (searching for best available 2 > maybe only single seats elsewhere?). At least it indicates good sales and probably close to sell out. YAY!
