3.18.14 The Countdown Continues - Strange Connections

Now I had time to relisten the EW interview re Sweden and how long (had to do it because no one posted any comment on that). I see I was right and a little bit wrong. It was actually not Adam but the interviewer who said

"You are also working on your own music, you were just in Sweden for a month and going back in Sweden for another month". However, Adam's response is an affirmative "uhum".


They come back at it later, twice, and again the interviewer is saying this 'month done month to go' and is it enough to wrap it. Adam replies with 'I'm not gonna rush it', embryonic, it's pretty new, songs not chosen etc. I was right about this and it's really Adam's words. Is he downplaying it or not, who knows.


So I guess I can still rely on my memory, what a relief!   And if you are confused go listen to it, especially part two, you can find it on page 8 in yesterday's thread.


There was some talk here about Max Martin and him being controlling. I was glad to hear in the interview that Adam mentions "collective of different producers" and says "it's a very free, open kind of environment", not dropping any names. To me it sounds like MM is not part of it, however Tove Lo is part of MM's writing team and one other guy Adam has been associated with in Sweden (don't remember his name) has been writing for that team.


Also what I got from the interview is that the album is not in the finalizing stages yet. He is making something new and it's ready when it's ready. Working hard, yes, but I guess no one can really plan a creative process by the hours or the days. I'm hoping that it goes well, that this second month would be successful and after that there would be much left as far as the songwriting (maybe recording too) is concerned. But to me it really seems impossible to have a single out in April, even May would be a stretch.

So let's not be too impatient with the new music and just enjoy the idea that it's being done and Adam's inspired and excited about it. 

I am not in the camp of he needs a new single before the tour but I do think he needs one right after or late into the tour.  Seems that there could be enough shape to the album and enough enthusiasm for a particular track that this could be possible without the rest of the album completely set and polished.  But then, what do I know?  That is why I was so hoping that Aviici would release LMD.  Very sad that it did not stay high enough in the downloaded tracks to merit release but I still think if it was released and radio played it (which I think they would given the Aviici track record and now Adam being a hot ticket), it would catch fire big time.  I am REALLY hoping for this but taking Q3's stomach and head into consideration.  Q3  How about taking some alka seltzer?

I ventured to the page 2 and saw soundcloud of the Finnish radio clip. I would like to add some more to my 'from memory' post on the contents (cannot quote it, too wonky).


After winner/runner-up the host says: He's got a superb career after that, many hits, superstar and now he's stepping into Freddie Mercury's shoes as a vocalist for Queen, summer tour in the US. I know a lot of fans from Finland are going there to see the gigs. What does Adam think about the age difference with the Queen guys, Ryan S do know each other well from AI times.
