Initial response to Queen + Adam Lambert's upcoming North American tour has been so strong, the band has added five additional dates. Three new cities — Boston; East Rutherford, N.J.; and Atlantic City — will get shows on the group's first North American tour in eight years. Second dates have been added for Uncasville, Conn., and Toronto. The tour will now end July 28 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre. Tickets for the newly added dates will go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m. local time via Live Nation. Queen announced the tour with the former American Idol runner-up as frontman on March 6. The 24-date tour will begin June 19 at Chicago's United Center. A full list of tour dates follow: |

Island is underneath the Universal umbrella Yes I know  And "Lava" is too . But wouldn't it make more sense if Adam was signed to Island Records ? Rather than "Lava" ? I mean , they have Aviccii , Queen , and even Melissa Etheridge - All three have worked (or planned to , or wanted to work) with Adam . And , the song "By the rules" has the word "Lava" in it , But it also has this whole "Island" feel to it . In North America they are on the Hollywood Records imprint. Island is owned by UMG, Hollywood records is distributed by UMG. Queen has been with Hollywood Records (HR) for North America since 1991. Hollywood Records is NOT owned by Universal Music Group (UMG) but is distributed by UMG. HR has commercial and creative agreement that enable Hollywood Records' artists to collaborate with the roster of producers and songwriters that are part of Universal. Queen left EMI for the rest of the world in August 2010 and signed with Universal Music Group. UMG has subsequently purchased most of EMI. Queen renewed their global deal with Universal Music Group in Dec 2013. I think he is probably better off within Republic or Interscope. There are three premiere label groups within UMG -- Republic Records, Interscope Records and Island Records (IDJMG). Island Records is an imprint with the The Island Def Jam Music Group (IDJMG) which is led by Barry Weiss who formerly ran RCA/Jive. There are 4 imprints within IDJMG: 1. Island Records 2. Def Jam Recordings 3. Mercury Records 4. Motown Records There are many other label groups in UMG. LAVA is part of UMG/Republic -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lava_RecordsLAVA is technically an independent label but part of UMG. It is a great place for Adam because of the management there. It is also operated out of Lava operates as joint venture with Universal Republic, who provide promotion, marketing, sales and distribution services. (Jason) Flom said that he wanted to work with co-presidents Avery and Monte Lipman because "[they] are among the best in the business at breaking new artists". My sincere hope is this is the part of UMG that Adam is signed to. Whatever else, Adam is almost certainly signed to a label that is part of UMG. The only other real option is Sony. |

Why don't they write about his girlfriend...  Well, you know answer to that, lol. A Finnish journalist wouldn't make that mistake... haha.  Probably a repost but it's from saturday night, too. The girl is Julie Bergan, a Norwegian singer, who spent a week in Stockholm writing music and has now returned home.  |
