Lambosessed Rutubes adamperformances.blogspot.com/2009/05/american-idol-final-results-show.htmlAMERICAN IDOL FINAL RESULTS SHOW For the American Idol final results show, Adam Lambert performed several times. 01. The first of the group performances was Pink's So What? 02. Adam performed Beth and Detroit Rock City with KISS. 03. The group sang Smooth with Santana. 04. Another group performance was Rod Stewart's Do You Think I'm Sexy? 05. Adam performed We Are The Champions as part of a duet with Queen at the end of the show. Me You and The Flossy Flossy We Both Already Knew By Jacob | Season 8 | Episode 40 | Aired on 2009.05.20 Finale: Results - One hour and fifty-five minutes of nothing but Ryan trying to make boring less so, followed by five minutes of WTF-O-OK. www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/american_idol/finale_results.php What the eff are we going to do with each other for two hours? I am talking 100 million votes, 624 mill total, but like that matters. I can't imagine what the hell is going to happen in this episode.
Neither Kris nor Adam's mic are working, so their hot white-clad selves are just at a loss. Of course Kris gives a nice little speech you can barely hear, but Adam actually understands that we're having a technical issue, so he just makes some scary face and then it's... over to Conway AR where MIKALAH GORDON is holding court.
So who's in San Diego for Adam? Fucking Carly Smithson. And such is my mood that I can't even cry about it because she looks gorgeous. Ryan calls her baby. www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/american_idol/finale_results.php
So. Top Thirteen, all in white. They sing the "So What" song, which I recognize from somewhere, but it's sort of aggro for this show, it's like "Fuck you, I'm a rock star, I don't need your love," which is true in finest sense, but then why be a rock star? www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/american_idol/finale_results.php?page=3
Adam journey, we've done that, "Viva La Vida" playing, and Adam explaining that he was only there because he had "ideas" and dreams of what this show could be. And motherfucker took the show in his strong hands and twisted it around what he wanted, and made everybody pay attention. He answered a question Blake asked years ago, and the answer was YES. www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/american_idol/finale_results.php?page=12
But I don't want to live in an America where I have to talk about KISS, so bleep-bloop. Sorry your duet medley sucked such righteous ass, Adam. I guess I get it, but I really don't. I realize Jeff Buckley would be a hard get -- paging Elvis! -- but surely we could get closer to your lineage. Leonard Cohen? Zeppelin? Maybe they tried, and KISS was like, "Cherry Dr Pepper!" and AI was like, "$$!" So whatever, then comes Carlos Santana, who firstly why is he here -- to pointlessify Matt Giraud's performance, which is one of the things I was really looking forward to -- and secondly is automatically like if Crazy took a mental holiday. That awful Puerto Rican werewolf and Adam sing along with that terrible "So Cool" song, and Danny, and I can't... I can't enjoy any of his songs because all I can think about is 1) Rob Thomas dances like something I've never seen in life and it makes me feel crazy in a Lambert way, and 2) I'm so glad Santana was not my guidance counselor. Oh, Camryn Manheim. You gaywad. Oh, Janice Dickinson, you are slightly less horrible than Tyra at this point. The boys sing a whole mashup video clip song of all their pimpmercial songs, to a song I don't know. I'm so horrified by how well I remember the pimpmercials, all of them separately. I assumed it would be like a blur. David Cook has a "surprise," which is a cheesiness "on behalf of the Ford Motor Company," which doubles up both Adam and Kris. So Adam goes, ""Quite the vehicle!" And Kris fakely goes, "Let's go for a ride, dude!" www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/american_idol/finale_results.php?page=13
OMG Ryan's still all about "either it's this one or that one, but America is still victorious." Literally he says that. And then they both sing a smiley Queen song, which honestly works for both for them: "We Are The Champions." And Queen plays amongst the fifty smoke machines and random chorale singing along, and wonders what's happening. It's all very heartfelt in the places where it doesn't go nuts. You know what I am so done. All the random people have arms up in the air while Adam and Kris hug and smooch and dress like each other and have so very much fun, and Paula and Kara are hugging like that's a fight that actually exists, and all the Idols are like vaguely onstage... And then the song is over, and guess what, commercial. Which is also about how they're both winners.
The more they do this the more obvious it is that Kris won and they both know it. I wish I knew it for sure so I could get this over with, because I really do think they're both awesome and don't care. I feel kind of funny about him winning because as awesome as it is that somebody can come up from behind like that, there's a sneaking sensation of the idea that he's just the less scary option, like it's a vote against. But somebody kept him there the whole time and I think just because I didn't hear about them or from them doesn't mean they aren't real. I prefer to think it was "Heartless" but we'll never know. I feel like at this point I should root for Adam just because he's deserved to win since the beginning, while when Kris wins it will be on his behalf, but plus Matt G and plus Danny. That's three against one. You know? www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/american_idol/finale_results.php?page=15
Adam with a giant broach, Kris tiny. Simon says they're both brilliant, unusually nice people, and deserve to be proud of last night. All true. Ryan is all about it, but still loves Adam more, we can tell. They bring out the weird-faced British guy like every year, and Adam carries Kris around like an adorable little doll like every year. They dim the lights and I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen because this is it, no more Ryan after this. Half the people in the audience are actually passed out. Passed the literal fuck out. And the winner is: KRIS ALLEN.
Ryan's all about the Dark Horse Underdog thing, which word, and Kris is like, "Buuuuut have you met Adam Lambert?" Ryan says, "Here's some girl with a trophy, congratulations." Kris has no words. Alexis and Megan are awkwardly wrapped in each other's arms. They -- meaning Allison -- push Adam back to center stage, and Simon watches like a hawk.
So what does it mean? I stick with the unicorn thing. more so I stick with the Kris-Is-Hot thing, but blaming that for it is the same thing as saying Bikini Kill has a skill. A Bikini Kill Skill. Kris is a side of Adam that's easier to deal with. Not because of that, but because his voice is effortless. Given two really great choices, we went with the steadier choice. I think Adam would have been better off if he'd given in less, surprised us more, stayed on his course. I don't think he would have outlasted Gokey, but then I'm not commercial. I know cute, and I know that. www.televisionwithoutpity.com/show/american_idol/finale_results.php?page=16

Encouraged by Chunky's TWoP blog I decided to take a stroll there and discovered many threads of interest I've never seen, as I've only visited the two Adam threads...So, at the moment I am in the 2009 SF auditions thread and here is my fav entry so far: forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3181249-8-3-auditions-san-francisco-20090120/page-2Rehabno Channel Surfer Posted Jan 20, 2009 @ 9:58 PM Tatiana was Krazy with a K. But I was surprised that her voice had a nice tone and she wasn't horrible. Lose the crazy.
Adam Lambert. I smell TCO. I say we saw our winner. I watched his OTT cover of "Crazy" on the tubes. It's a must watch. He is almost unrecognizable with blond hair, a orange tan job and tight Lycra pants and not much else. There is much crotch grabbing. He is already pretty savvy if he knows he has to tone it down to make it on this show. No sassy Danny moments yet..... another great one: Snaphappy Couch Potato Posted Jan 20, 2009 @ 10:51 PM I had the pleasure of seeing Adam as Fiyero in Wicked in LA and was blown away by him. He was far and away the best guy in that cast, and I'm not surprised he did well today. He's a lock for the top 36.
Also, as others have said, I'll Be His Bitch Forever if Adam Performs "Crazy" on Idol the Way He Did Here..
Oh my Lord. There just aren't words for THAT.
Here's a video of Adam Singing an Original Song He Wrote in the Zodiac Show.
Just doing a quick search on Youtube, it's obvious he has a large repertoire of songs to pull from on AI.
Dude, I SOOOOO Want Adam to make it far, JUST so I can hear him sing a duet with Idina Menzel on the Finale of AI from Wicked. GAHHHHH my heart couldn't take it. and this one: bloomable0401 Channel Surfer Gender:Female Location:Neverland .... Posted Jan 20, 2009 @ 11:59 PM Wasn't impressed with very many people tonight... .....
That said - Adam and I are making babies. I try not to get too attached during the audition rounds, but he really grabbed me. And I agree that AI needs someone a little bit more theatrical and I also agree that it isn't a bad thing - especially considering all the 'bots they had on the show who barely connected with the songs they were singing. (But I'm a theatre person, so I might be a little biased...)
more: tvguru94 Couch Potato Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 12:06 AM Oh, man! I have been waiting 4+ years for Adam Lambert to show up on AI.
I saw him a few years ago in a musical in LA - The Ten Commandments, with Val Kilmer as Moses (no, Val cannot sing, in case you were wondering.). Despite the fact that the show and its lead were not good, Adam brought down the house with his solo as Joshua. He actually got a standing ovation at the end of it. I go to a lot of musicals, and I've never seen a standing ovation in the middle of a show. I've got an mp3 of that song, plus a song from a production he did of Brigadoon. They may already be on You Tube, I don't know. I'll try to find a way to share them if not. But he really has a voice. I don't think his audition did him justice. I'm so excited to finally see him on AI.
I'm jealous snaphappy! Adam was in the chorus when I saw him in "Wicked."

OMG! this way I am going to post the whole thread! anyway: Madcap Jester Loyal Viewer Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 12:18 AM So last year in California, we wound up with Carly Smithson, Michael Johns, and David Archuleta, arguably the three best singers of season seven (excluding the winner). This year, we get Adam Lambert (maybe - he's got great vocal control, but I personally think he really IS too theatrical for Idol) . . . and no one else. Come on, CA, don't tell me you're tapped out already!
Also, I know Adam played Fiyero in Wicked, but was he the main actor or the understudy? Because if he got the chance to star as the male lead for the highest-grossing, most popular musical in the nation and threw it away for Idol, I will never forgive him.
one more: Snaphappy Couch Potato Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 2:28 AM Ok I finally figured out why Adam is destined to win this whole shebang.
He has great pedigree.
He is what you would end up with if Clay Aiken and David Cook could somehow produce an offspring. Throw in a touch of Constantine's theatrics, and you have yourself a winner my friends.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
and this: WholahayBrown Couch Potato Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 1:13 PM The second I saw Adam, I thought he'd win. nice: Eponah Fanatic Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 4:17 PM After seeing some of Adam's vids on youtube, I'm very impressed. He's got great range and stage presence. Maybe some will hate me, but he sortof reminds me of Freddy Mercury, who I absolutely adored.

Here is another one re Wicked:
dbklmt Couch Potato Posted Jan 21, 2009 @ 7:15 PM This may have already been answered but I'll post what I've heard directly from Adam. He was the understudy for the male lead Fiyero and when I saw Wicked for the first time he was on for Derrick Williams. He was so good. No, he was incredible and unfortunately no one else that I saw after that and I'm a Wicked Fanatic compared with him. Unfortunately he has such an incredible voice which he used to rift at times (Up that I fell) for one and could actually outsing the female leads at times. That's a no no and TPTB let him know they didn't like it. He waited and waited to take over the lead role but he was passed over too many times and when the role of Fiyero in the new production in S.F. didn't go to him it was adios to Wicked. He just upped and quit the ensemble when he knew that he had a ticket to Hollywood. Talking with him on January 12th at the Defying Inequality benefit in L.A. he is done with Wicked and pursuing what he's always wanted more a career as a pop singer. I for one hope he gets his dream because he is one very talented singer!
Interesting bit of info here:
nachtmensch Couch Potato Posted Jan 24, 2009 @ 2:18 PM Quote Adam's not gay right?
From personal knowledge, Adam is definitely out and proud. He's a friend of my brother's. They did musicals together in high school and while Adam wasn't out then, he's certainly stepped out of the closet since graduating.
I still marvel over his performance of "Lily's Eyes" as Archibald in a high school version of Secret Garden. The Neville also had a phenomenal voice and it was a breath-taking piece. He's a nice guy and I hope he makes it far.
done with the SF auditions thread, good thing it was only 5 pages.

I finally have a bit of time, so I went down the TWOP RH again: I am scrolling thru the "Group 2 thread", that's when Adam sang Satisfaction (the only performance I didn't like)...some real gems there: forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3182592-8-14-group-2-performs-20090225/Adammo88 Posted Feb 25, 2009 @ 10:01 PM ...... Adam I'm filing charges in the morning - this was an aural and visual sexual assault. THIS was given the pimp spot? I hated it as much as I hated Constantine and Clay combined. And he seems SO self important
----------
UrbanShocker Loyal Viewer Gender:Male Posted Feb 25, 2009 @ 10:14 PM
Adam is not a rocker, Randy. He shouldn't ever sing a rock song. Just stay with Broadway, Queen or Meatloaf - leave the rock to someone else.
------------
weathernut85 Loyal Viewer Posted Feb 25, 2009 @ 10:58 PM
Perhaps I'm misinformed but isn't Queen and Meatloaf considered rock? Its not metal, but its rock. And Adam is definitely Rock in a Queen, Rocky Horror Picture Show kind of way. But that's rock baby...
-------------
presto Loyal Viewer Posted Feb 25, 2009 @ 11:32 PM
I've always thought Queen was one of the ultimate rock bands, and Meat Loaf is rock, too. It's just, as you say, not metal. It's theatrical and over-the-top like musicals, but definitely rock.
I'd especially love to hear Adam try some Queen, as I think that he could handle it and do well with it. That's not something I would say for very many singers.
--------------
bayoubevo Channel Surfer Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 1:09 AM I'd like to see Adam sing some Led Zeppelin. No one's tried "Stairway to Heaven" in a while........I think he'd kill it, in a good way.
Ditto for some Steve Perry. What I wouldn't give to see him sing Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' .
--------------
justwatchintv Video Archivist Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 1:09 AM
Oh, QueenCharisma if Adam did that, I'd be his bitch 4-evah! Especially if he wore the blue lame' spandex jumpsuit ala your link provided - regis! Thanks for that!
Keep your fingers crossed!
I will third that motion.
That would be the best AI episode ever.
Yes! This absolutely must happen. I think I would pee pee my pants with excitement. If Idol's TPTB lurk these boards...please take note of this!
That would be great. Also, I think he could really rock out some Muse..."Starlight," "Hysteria," "Time Is Running Out," whatever, they're a solid band and Adam's voice would really lend itself to singing something in their repetoire. ------------------
Snaphappy Couch Potato Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 2:39 AM The funniest thing to me tonight was the fact that last week TPTB made Gokey look like some sort of risen Jesus, and this week they made Adam look like he was peforming at LA Pride. To me at least, it was a major foreshadowing of what's to come:
God
vs.
Gay
---------------------- dededom Couch Potato Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 6:55 AM Chiming in from Down Under:
My picks are Adam and Allison, and then (with an eye to DialIdol) Matt or Jesse for number 3.
If one week Adam delivers a non-showy, "straight" to the camera performance without any eye fucking or shimmying the judges will be beside themselves and then he'd give the Gokey a run for his money. But I can't see middle America getting on the glam gay bandwagon. --------------------- FierlanFire Loyal Viewer Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 11:40 AM ....Adam -- I freaking love him. He puts on a performance that is memorable, and that's what I want. Not all of his notes were perfect and the beginning was weird, but I don't care because he put it out there. I don't see him as showing off because he thinks he's better than everyone else, I see him as putting on a show that people have (in his past experience) enjoyed and were entertained by and wanting to entertain others. I love Freddy Mercury and would love it if someone out there would become to this generation what Freddy Mercury was for his. A real performer who isn't afraid to to go outside the box and give it his all. I love his voice, and I think he has mad stage skills and has been super professional in interviews and during critiques.------------ Alimarbreale Channel Surfer Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 3:00 PM ... Adam: Gag. Skanky appearance and affectations. He looks evil to me. And his parents look so normal and conservative.....LOL
----------- PorkFat Fanatic Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 4:48 PM I like Adam and all the dirty sex he's throwing at me. He kind of reminds me of a dark haired Xandir from Drawn Together.
----------- Emilala Channel Surfer Posted Feb 27, 2009 @ 11:20 AM
Yeah, when someone is singing that high in the upper register, it requires more vocal tract opening to allow the sound to come out unimpeded. Basically, since it's higher and there is just more sound, there needs to be more space created to allow it to resonate properly and in a relaxed way. And on that note, you can tell by watching that Adam definitely has KILLER vocal technique.

I gotta ask. Did Adam ever sing in a metal band or anything cause seriously when he goes way up there he sounds like Rob Halford. I'm not foolin, Adam could probably sing "Painkiller" easily. I like Adam and that kinda thing doesn't bug me but I bet its gonna bug alot of people. Alot of people probably see it as screaming even if its not cause it can sound damn close. I'm guessing he was the top vote getter? Maybe Allison was though...---------- bzork Couch Potato Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 9:38 PM
His dad's FACE! It was hysterical -- sort of 'I am so incredibly PROUD OF MY SON, but goddamn is he gay.' I died laughing. It was touching, and funny, and poignant and cool.
------------- troubleinmind Fanatic Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 9:47 PM As of this moment, I am only rooting for Adam. Everyone else bores me to tears. Especially Kris Allen.
------------ phoebepoodle Couch Potato Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 9:50 PM
Adam will not be going home for a long, long, time, darling. I'm calling top 2, for reals.
------------- freckle face Loyal Viewer Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 10:10 PM Snaphappy
I happen to know Adam's father and he is a great guy. Eber (Adam's father) is so funny, warm and sincere. I have never seen a set of parents love and truly put their child first as I have seen with the Lambert's. His parents are divorced, by the way. Have been for a long time, but are still great friends and truly have affection for each other. Adam came out to his parents pretty young and they were as great as any child would hope.
------------ Snaphappy Couch Potato Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 11:11 PM Well, he *is* Constantine's lovechild, so you know. It goes with the territory. I personally liked it. but I can see why others would feel kinda violated. You know, for a gay man, he's very...sexual in a heterosexual way. I can't really explain it, but I feel it, you know? Like he likes guys, but he oozes straight guy "I'm gonna make girls swoon"-ness. It's such a weird combination.
--------------- adelaide97 Video Archivist Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 11:17 PM I confess to not getting the Adam/Constantine comparisons. As far as I'm concerned, Adam is sex on a stick with lots of jewelry, while Constantine just reminded me of Jesus.
I'm disturbingly and perhaps irrevocably attracted to Adam. Go ahead and break my heart--is he for sure gay? ------------------ #105 coolio70 Couch Potato Posted Feb 26, 2009 @ 11:20 PM I haven't given much thought to his sexuality--but I have to admit that during his performance the sexuality--though very very contrived, didn't strike me as overtly gay or overtly straight. 'Tis true. The teenage girls who don't know better can keep thinking he is flicking his tongue at them, straight through their tv.

Adam has some annoying tics, but boy the guy is quite a professional singer. [my own reaction: WHAT???? WHEN???WHERE???] --------- harleycat Channel Surfer Posted Feb 27, 2009 @ 1:51 AM OK, don't kill me for saying this, but to me, the way that Adam works his sexuality reminds me very much of Freddie Mercury. NOT the way they sing, not the way they live, but the way they aren't afraid to BE sexual and let the chips fall where they may. It's refreshing to see someone who doesn't appear to be putting on a persona, but just being themselves. Of course, not everyone is going to like it...
---------- adelaide97 Video Archivist Posted Feb 27, 2009 @ 1:52 AM I think you nailed it right there. I wouldn't mind if Adam Lambert sang about fat-bottomed girls making his rockin' world go 'round. ------------ Michelle Loyal Viewer Posted Feb 27, 2009 @ 9:08 AM Adam is the ONLY contestant I have ever felt could sucessfully tackle Steve Perry and not rip it to teeny tiny shreds.
But there is the lack of Journey on this show because Steve doesn't want the music to be used in a cheesy way I guess. I mean Journey has to battle the cheese enough. I was horrified at Queen week and how bad they butchered my beloved Queen songs. I can't imagine them butchering my beloved Journey songs too. Quote YES!! He absolutely reminds me of Freddie in that Freddie was just... sexual. Yes, he could be "gay", but he could also make me think "GOD! Why does he have to be GAY?" Not because I think gay is bad, but because I'm a girl and know I wouldn't do a damn thing for him in that respect.
So yes, I seem to get the same reaction when watching Adam. I recognize that my best gay friend would be sitting there just as turned on as me and that is not a bad thing when selling records. Especially when you can sing. ------------------- Konfusion Couch Potato Posted Feb 27, 2009 @ 10:04 AM

Holy crap, between this lovely song and the earlier clips that have been found online I'm starting to wonder if there is any musical production that Adam hasn't been a part of. I'm going to have to closely check over the credits for Rocky Horror Picture Show to see if he had a bit part in there somewhere. Speakling of which, I really hope he picks a song from that soundtrack at some point this season.
So when Adam and Danny are on the same stage together will they cancel each other out or explode, like matter and anti-matter?
