4.1.14 Adam's Last Episode of Glee, Post-Modern Album!

< I apologize for posting about this so long after the tweets -- but I wanted to think about those tweets a bit. >

Adam is very precise about the words he uses. And he was very precise with this tweet:

He said that when fans write "it's so sad he's gay" it's sort of annoying. And questioned what about that would make a fan sad. The example of possible motivation for the tweet was not what was important -- it was the idea that a fan would be made sad because Adam is gay -- and his statement that "I love bein gay".

And in response to the suggestion that he take it as a compliment, he rejected that and wrote.

Similarly precise and specific words.

In total his message was really powerful because it was very clear and required very little explanation and no interpretation.

It would be much easier for Adam to turn a blind eye towards ignorance which is sometimes more damaging to people than hate IMHO. Instead of ignoring it, Adam occasionally takes on ignorance. And in doing so he brings real meaning to the concept of being proud and happy with who he is, the idea that often gets forgotten when people talk Gay Pride and being Out.

Last night's tweets made me very happy that I have invested so much time and energy to support an artist and celebrity -- partly because of the promise of new post-modern Adam music -- but mostly for the simple message he tweeted that I hope helped a few people gain a new perspective and treat their friends, family, co-workers, strangers, other celebrities, etc. just a bit more thoughtfully in the future.

I absolutely agree. I can't stand Taylor Swift's voice, and whenever either of those songs comes on the car radio I can't change the station fast enough ... Because otherwise the song will be stuck in my head for hours!
