It would make AGBW happy -- it is a current song of theirs and they may have not allowed Glee to post the performance for free. AGBW released "Rockstar" as a promotional single on March 3, 2014. (ETA: Promo single = free on iTunes for a period of time.) It was released on their album "Is Anybody Out There?" January 21, 2014 My guess is that they blocked Glee from releasing it on YT. ETA: AGBW have 1 hit, the album sold 59K in the first two weeks, the lead single "Say Something" is 3x Platinum. They are signed to RCA and this looks like a cheap promo path -- they have the AGBW audio on YT -- no video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtROijZqCb8&feature=kp No sign of major promo support. Could that also be why Elliott said the song was by " Great New World" instead of Great Big World? Wow i think you may be right! I thought it was an older song of theirs. When I googled it I found this: "In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org. "
The complaint was a copyright infringement for Rockstar with a list of URL's.
Really seems odd that Glee would choose a song that couldn't be posted later. Also AGBW flailed over the choice & responded to both Adam and Ryan Murphy saying how great that their song was being featured. Odd.

I will leave it to Glee experts to come up with theories about why they changed the real artist's name. I am even stretching about why it is not on YT. Makes no sense to me since the audio is on YT. So all I can figure is AGBW's label (RCA) made a deal to place the song in Glee, and negotiated for a partial mention of the artist's name but Glee promised no performance video? The whole thing didn't really make sense. They clearly filmed this when they did IBIATCL with Chris and Adam, then just stuffed it into this episode. At least Elliott is not dead and so he could return. (Although in last night's Glee he looked like a man and Kurt looked like a kid.)

As you all know, I wrote a post yesterday about Adam's twitter party and something unexpected happened: either I poorly expressed myself or some people misunderstood my words, so I would like to explain myself a little better. I think that Adam's collaboration with Max Martin is great, I would LOVE if it became a radio hit, I never said Max wrote generic songs and I don't even remember why I used his name because it was totally irrelevant to my post. It could be any other producer's name, his was the first which came to my mind. There:) I do apologize if I mislead anyone, that wasn't my intention, all I wanted is to flail a bit, my way:) It was just my interpretation of his tweets, nothing else. Don't take me too seriously, please ETA/// Huge thanks to those who liked my flailing, you're the best

You guys, ROCKSTAR is on The Glee You Tube channel! www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAdFSIh9eooAlso, 99% sure IBIATCL and Rockstar were not filmed at the same time! For one thing, no nose ring vs. nose ring! Also, I remember very distinct different times in tweets from the cast and crew about both episodes and songs. Pretty sure Frenemies was filmed in Dec. and New NY was filmed in February, the week before Adam went to Stockholm. But the nose ring is the dead giveaway!

Here's a few comments left on the Glee (audio) of Rock Star. This first comment...what a delicious way to sum up Adam doing covers. Tess McGinnis 1 day ago When Adam sings: It's like he took a cake out of the oven and decorated it just so with all manner of frosting, fruit and candy. Still the same cake, but now, what a cake!
Sharon Bunn 20 hours ago Loved Adam on Glee, interacting so well and seamlessly with such a talented, great cast. Will miss not seeing him on TV, but hope this stint will open up many more opportunities! Meanwhile can't wait to see him live with Queen, the concert of a lifetime! 42 more minutes until Glee!
Nancy Linton 2 days ago Love Adam Lambert's voice. He just made this song his own. Signature Adam!!!
Abigail Ang 1 day ago This is so good!
linda chesnut 2 days ago Adam and Chris are both amazing but Adam has that rock star voice!!!!
blicknproud 1 day ago 3:07-3:15 - WOW
Maliha Sallahuddin 2 days ago How does Lambert manage to sound to gorgeous always? He sounds so different!
blicknproud 1 day ago I agree! At first, I was like is that Adam? Then I heard that sweetness in his voice that is like no other. This dude has had my mouth hanging open for five years now.
Maliha Sallahuddin 1 day ago hahahaaha I cant say it in a better way!
Kathleen Kennedy3 days ago Love this!!
2039marl 3 days ago Both guys sound terrific - love it!

We could date just about any picture/video based on haircut, hair color, tattoo, and now nose ring. I do that now by memory, but it's getting harder and harder - too much to remember!

They published a Walmart soundcheck video 2 months ago, and then the official audio just a month ago when they made it a promo single. Maybe they are hoping it will pick up as a played single and they know it's hard to compete with Adam so they use Glee as promo and plan on putting out their own video? They seem to be promoting it thru their own twitter etc. who knows.
