I think the “Night and Day” means something

I do not know what “Night and Day” means but I think these words, and the new black and white images on Adam’s Twitter and Facebook profiles are related to A3. It is a dark-light theme which Adam has used in the past.

The 2014 "Part-of-the-World" Queen + Adam Lambert Tour Countdown!
4.6.14 by Q3
The countdown moves on and the start of this epic tour gets closer. Only 74 days to go!
#74 “Dear Friends” (1974)
Written by Brian May.
Released November 8, 1974 on Sheer Heart Attack.
It had to be a song from 1974!
This is one of many, many Queen tracks that Queen fans who only have listened to the Greatest Hits albums and live concert recordings have never heard. I really love this song, and would really like to have a recording of Freddie singing this song later in his career. I think Freddie sung this song using his semi-falsetto but Freddie mixed so many classical, pop and rock vocal techniques together I have difficulty sorting them out. All I know is I would really like to hear this song with a clear, smooth vocal and no vibrato. [And if that is not Freddie's semi-falsetto and that is not vibrato -- please correct me in the thread. I am a marketing and strategy maven, vocal techniques, not so much!]
So, since I can’t get a new Freddie recording, I have this on my Queen + Adam Lambert wish list. It is a small little bit of a song. So Universe, work your magic!
Yes, I know there is almost no chance Queen will perform “Dear Friends” in the upcoming concerts. But the band did select it to be on “Five Live” when they needed to select a 6th track. More info below. So I will maintain my hopes.
The song is only 1 minute and 7 seconds long. It is one of the two songs that Queen recorded that are about 1:07 long. The other is Freddie's “Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon” from A Night at the Opera which is 1:08 long. These are not the shortest Queen recordings. There are two shorter tracks on Flash Gordon (soundtrack). [In case you were wondering: The shortest Queen track is on Made in Heaven, track #12, “Yeah” which is only 0:04 long.]
"Dear Friends" is a very simple piano ballad, a kind of lullaby. It is almost completely free from any syncopations and non-diatonic notes, the phrasing is square throughout. The non-syncopated rhythms and the arrangement itself is very classical-influenced, and could be arranged for string-quartet easily.
Many scale-fragments are built-in the accompanying chord progression.

"Dear Friends" was recorded with Brian May on the piano and backing vocals with Freddie providing lead vocals.
… this one is short and sweet …. Instrumentally, it's quite simple mainly on the piano. It's really quite nice indeed, about starting anew when friendships collapse. I have to wonder what it would sound like with Brian on lead. His voice would fit this one well. Not that Freddie does a bad job, I hasten to add. A very enjoyable song. The high point of this side.

“Dear Friends” Lyrics
As far as I know, Brian May has never explained what this song is about. The literal meaning of this song appears to be about lost love and the pain of getting over it. Some people interpret it to be about a friend who has died. Well; will just add it to my list of “Questions for Brian Many.”
youtu.be/M3-RagroilE
So dear friends
Your love is gone
Only tears to dwell upon
I dare not say
As the wind must blow
So a love is lost
A love is won
Go to sleep and dream again
Soon your hopes will rise and then
From all this gloom life
Can start anew
And there'll be no crying soon
Bonus Track: Freddie's 1:08 track
The song will not make the countdown, but since it is the about same length as "Dear Friends".
Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon (1975)
Written by Freddie Mercury.
Released on A Night at the Opera on November 21, 1975
On "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" Freddie Mercury played piano and did all of the vocals. The lead vocal was sung in the studio and reproduced through headphones in a tin bucket elsewhere in the studio. A microphone picked up the sound from the bucket, which gives it a hollow "megaphone" sound. The guitar solo is also reported to have been recorded on the vocal track, as there were no more tracks to record on, as explained by producer Roy Thomas Baker during the 'Classic Albums' documentary. The key change going into the guitar solo (Eb to A) is a tritone relationship, making it a jarring, but very effective, transition into the key of E minor for the next track, "I'm in Love with My Car". [Another reason that listening to these albums in context makes sense -- they were not 21st playlists, but were albums with two separate sides and set sequences.

This song describes a man's week and how much he loves his Sunday afternoon, contains a paradox halfway through when he claims to be an ordinary guy (from London town) but on Fridays goes painting at the Louvre.
There are a number of allusions to songs that Queen hadn't yet released. The lyrics, "On Tuesday I go off to honeymoon" can be seen as a reference to "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" and "Bicycling on every Wednesday evening" as a reference to "Bicycle Race."
"Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon"
I go out to work on a Monday morning
Tuesday I go off to honeymoon
I'll be back again before it's time for Sunny-down,
I'll be lazing on a Sunday afternoon
Bicycling on every Wednesday evening
Thursday I go waltzing to the Zoo
I come from London town, I'm just an ordinary guy,
Fridays I go painting in the Louvre
I'm bound to be proposing on a Saturday night (There he goes again)
I'll be lazing on a Sunday
lazing on a Sunday
lazing on a Sunday Afternoon.
About “Five Live”
Five Live, released in 1993, features five (in some countries, where it is considered to be a reduced-length long-playing album, six) tracks, performed byGeorge Michael, Queen, and Lisa Stansfield. "Somebody to Love" and "These Are the Days of Our Lives" (both also available on video) were recorded at theFreddie Mercury Tribute Concert, held on 20 April 1992, at Wembley Stadium.
All proceeds from the sale of the EP benefited the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Sales of the record were in fact very strong throughout Europe, where it debuted at number one, in the UK Singles Chart, and several European countries, either considered as a single, or charting on album charts as an extended play or anLP. Chart success in the U.S. was far less spectacular, but the EP still peaked at number 30 on the Billboard 200.
An edited shorter version of "Killer" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone", a live medley performed by Michael at Wembley Arena, was released as a further independent single, in some territories only. The singer also shot a video for it, although he did not personally appear (it was during the time Michael refused to exploit his outward look, which he thought would distract the audience from the music, his main concern). The video was directed by Marcus Nispel.
While "These Are the Days of Our Lives" is played by the remaining members of Queen, it is actually a duet between George Michael and Lisa Stansfield. The version on the EP is not identical to the actual performance on the night, however.
The sixth track—only featured on some releases—is represented by a short performance by Queen, entitled "Dear Friends", originally sung by Freddie Mercury himself. Recorded in 1974, this constitutes the one studio recording on the record. It was not included in the UK vinyl of the EP.
Usually, countries where the six-track work is distributed consider it to be a short LP, whereas those where the five-track (hence, its title) work is available generally tend to see it as an EP or even (if "Killer"/"Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" was not marketed independently in those same territories) as a particularly long or content-rich single. However, no matter its status, whether an EP, a short album or a long single, the work as a whole sold an estimated 5 million copies worldwide.

What If You Have An Extra Ticket or Two?
As long as you are willing to sell your ticket to a member for what you paid for it, you can post any "for sale" tickets in the Members Only section in the concert thread for the event.
A couple suggestions:
1. If you have a Ticketmaster ticket, you can transfer it on Ticketmaster for most concerts. (Be careful about ticket transfers in Philadelphia and at Merrieweather Columbia, MD. You cannot transfer a Will Call ticket at there venues.)
2. If you purchased a VIP Fan Package, the merchandise will be shipped to the purchaser’s address. If you wish to give this to the buyer with the ticket, remember you will need to mail it.
