The closest I could find to Adam drinking Lipton Lemon Iced Tea, was Adam drinking an adult beverage with limes. Just use your imagination, he could have had a ZEN Iced Tea: 4 parts Iced Tea. 1-1/2 parts ZEN Green Tea Liqueur, 1-1/2 parts Vodka, Lime Zest, Lime Slice, for garnish. The photo in the banner is from March 29, 2013 and is of Adam having dinner with a friend.

Lipton Iced Tea –
the official Summer 2014 beverage of Adamtopia
4.10.14 by Q3
You can drink whatever you want to drink. But for the next few months this site will be serving only one beverage – from the company with extraordinarily good musical taste – Digital Lipton Iced Tea!!!
So for now, my diet Coke is gone, my unbiquious coffee cup will get dusty in my cupboard, Starbucks will need to survive without my daily contributions…. ‘cause I am drinking Lipton Iced Tea.

The 2014 "Part-of-the-World" Queen + Adam Lambert Tour Countdown!
4.10.14 by Q3
The countdown moves on and the start of this epic tour gets closer. Only 70 days to go! (only 10 weeks!)
#70 “The Miracle” (1989)
Written by Queen. Freddie Mercury was the principle composer of this song, John Deacon contributed some of the chords and all 4 of the band members came up with lyrical ideas.
Released on The Miracle on May 22, 1989. Single released on November 27, 1989
"'The Miracle' track, which is mainly Freddie, is a small masterpiece in its own way."
Brian May - October 1994, Guitar Magazine
Q3 Note: If you have never seen it, check out the WWF TV commercial.
It will brighten up your day!
It will brighten up your day!
This is one track that I put on the countdown that I do not expect to hear in the upcoming concerts. Queen never performed it live, it was one of their singles that was not released in the US. And I suspect that Brian and Roger are not complete fans of the lyrics on the recorded version. I included it for 3 reasons:
1. I would like to hear Adam sing this. I think he could really do something with this melody.
2. I like the sentiment of the song, although, it would be interesting to have someone revise the lyrics a bit.
3. The song lyrics contain this line, “Sunday mornings with a cup of tea.” Of course, I think that could be revised to “Sunday mornings with Lipton tea.” It is Crazy for Tea Day!
BUT I really would prefer to hear Adam sing both songs that were B-sides to “The Miracle”. (See below – Fabulous B-sides.)
*****
"The Miracle" is the fifth and final single from Queen's 1989 eponymous studio album. It was composed by the entire band, though Freddie Mercury and John Deacon were the primary writers. It was released as a single in late November 1989, some six months after the album. It was the last of the singles from that album to be released, and the first 5th single released from any of Queen's albums from EMI.
The sleeve artwork for the single used a color negative of album's cover artwork. (Shown above)
Mercury began writing the song after he and John Deacon made some chords and decided which one would be the theme. All four contributed to the lyrics and musical ideas, and the song was still credited to the entire band because they had agreed to do so during the album recording, regardless of who had been the actual writer. While both Mercury and May regarded this as one of their favorites, Taylor said in the audio commentary of Greatest Video Hits II that although it was not a favorite of his, he respected it as "an incredibly complex track".
Fun bit of trivia: The synth-bass line that serves as an intro to the bridge is the same bass line intro to Freddie Mercury's "Let's Turn It On" from his 'Mr Bad Guy' album.

Personnel
"No, actually, I think, that was one of the songs where we all contributed. It’s actually the closest we’ve ever actually been, in terms of actually writing together. And that’s quite true. Before we’ve actually had individual songs that we sort of put about and bring to the other people and the others put there sort of… a bit seen it. But I think, from the start, these tracks are sort of actually emerged by the four of us. That’s why I think this album has got all tracks written by Queen. But lyrically, going back to The Miracle, I think, the four of us really put everything into it, because I mean, somebody would come with one line and say 'Oh, that’s terrible!' – and change it, and, so… in fact, I mean, in one way, I hate that, because after keep singing different lyrics every day, until we sort of agree on the final one… I’d say, lyrically 'The Miracle' is a definite four way split."
Freddie Mercury - 29/05/1989, BBC Radio One (interview with Mike Read)
• Freddie Mercury - lead and backing vocals, piano, synthesizer
• Brian May - lead guitar, backing vocals
• John Deacon - bass guitar
• Roger Taylor - drums, backing vocals
• Produced by: Queen and David Richards
Commercial Success and Reviews
“The Miracle” (single) spent 5 weeks on the UK chart, peaking at #21. It was released and charted in a few other countries; it was not released as a single in the US. The album fared better – UK #1 and Platinum, US #24 and Gold.
When it was released this song and the associated album were not loved.
Dallas Morning News, 07-02-1989
Mr. Mercury, of course, does get to indulge his classical bent. The title song (“The Miracle”), a simple (perhaps simple-minded) celebration of life's little triumphs, is not quite operatic, but it does offer lush orchestrations and celestial harmonies that duel intriguingly with Mr. Taylor's rapid time-keeping.

Queen “The Miracle”

Somewhere out there, there's a cruel prankster circulating a rumor that The Miracle is Queen's official return to hard rock. Well, off with his head. The band hasn't been so bogged down by synthesizers and pinging drum machines since Hot Space.
Basically, The Miracle is a showcase for Freddie Mercury and his love of sweeping, quasi-operatic vocals. And indeed, Mercury — especially on the title track — has never sounded better. One of his strengths is his ability to take even the schlockiest material and make it his own, and that gift comes in handy on The Miracle.
Brian May is still in fighting trim, too — when you can hear him. May's role on The Miracle is, for the most part, limited to a quick, typically brilliant solo here and there. As a result, the album lacks the sense of dynamics that marked most of Queen's early work. Only on a few tracks ("Khashoggi's Ship" and "Was It All Worth It") does May really let it rip, and when he does, it's like the old Queen peeping out for just a moment and then turning tail.
If you're a fan who's been hankering for years to hear Queen get back to the bombast of its heyday, replace your old copy of A Night at the Opera or News of the World instead. But don't give up hope. At least The Miracle offers little snippets of Queen's former majesty.

For the 2011 reissue, the album got more respect
Allmusic stated "The Miracle packs quite a sonic punch, recalling the rich sounds of their past classics (1976's A Day at the Races, etc.). Split 50/50 between pop and heavy rock, the album was another global smash. Along with The Game, The Miracle is Queen's strongest album of the '80s."
Brian and Roger on the negative response to "The Miracle" in the UK
"We got pasted to the wall for this in England. Everybody hated it, for some reason. It's very uncool to be idealistic in Britain, I suppose, at the moment, and they said, 'How can they talk about peace,' and all that sort of stuff, then of course, China happened and everything. It seems very relevant to us."
Brian May - 1989, Hard 'N' Heavy (1989, vol 3)
"In England 'idealism' is 'naivety,' which is wrong, it's not. There's nothing wrong with idealism. Nick Lowe wrote that great song, great title - 'What's so bad about peace, love and understanding,' yeah, and what is so bad about."
Roger Taylor - 1989, Hard 'n' Heavy (1989, vol 3)
Music sidebar: One on my favorite songs. Talk about Fabulous B Sides!
Since Roger mentioned this Nick Lowe song, and it is one of my favorite songs, here is Elvis Costello and The Impostors’ with Nick Lowe performing (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love and Understanding from November 21, 1987.
youtu.be/x4IYaJCkinA
The song was originally released in 1974 on the album The New Favourites of... Brinsley Schwarz by Lowe's band Brinsley Schwarz and released as a single; this version was included on Lowe's 2002 compilation Anthology (along with the Elvis Costello version), and his 2009 compilation Quiet Please... The New Best of Nick Lowe, as well as 1991's Surrender to the Rhythm: The Best of Brinsley Schwarz, 1996’s Naughty Rhythms: The Best of Pub Rock 1970–1976, and 1998’s Pub Rock: Paving the Way for Punk.
The Elvis Costello & The Attractions version was first issued as the B-side of Lowe's 1978 single "American Squirm" credited to "Nick Lowe and His Sound". At the time, Lowe was Costello's producer, and he produced this track as well. When the song became a hit, it was quickly appended as the last track to the US edition of Costello's album Armed Forces. It has appeared on most of Costello's "Best of" compilations over the years, as well as on the soundtrack to the film “200 Cigarettes”. Live versions appeared on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Volume 7: 2002–2003, and 2012's The Return of the Spectacular Spinning Songbook, both by Elvis Costello and the Attractions. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked this version of the song as the 284th best song of all time.

"The Miracle" Music video
The music video for the song features four young boys - Paul Howard as Brian May, James Currie as John Deacon, Adam Gladdish as Roger Taylor, and a then-unknown Ross McCall as Freddie Mercury – performing as Queen on stage. Throughout the video, McCall appears dressed as four different incarnations of Mercury: '70s era (long hair and harlequin leotard), early '80s (thick mustache, leather jacket and pants), the mid-80s Live Aid outfit, and The Magic Tour '86 (the iconic yellow leather jacket, white pants and Adidas sneakers). Queen themselves appear only near the end of the video. According to Roger Taylor, Mercury joked about sending the boys out on tour instead of them because of how well they did in the video. According to a story in a 2011 issue of rock magazine NME, the boy playing the part of Brian May (Howard) is currently fronting London rock band Silvery.

The Miracle (Lyrics)
The song describes several of "God's creations, great and small", such as great buildings like the Taj Mahal and the Tower of Babel, all described as "miracles" in the song. The song also references such well-known figures as Captain Cook, Cain and Abel, and Jimi Hendrix.

The Miracle
Every drop of rain that falls in Sahara Desert says it all,
It's a miracle,
All God's creations great and small, the Golden Gate and the Taj Mahal,
That's a miracle,
Test tube babies being born, mothers, fathers dead and gone,
It's a miracle,
We're having a miracle on earth, mother nature does it all for us,
The wonders of this world go on, the hanging Gardens of Babylon,
Captain Cook and Cain and Able, Jimi Hendrix to the Tower of Babel
It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle,
The one thing we're all waiting for, is peace on earth - an end to war,
It's a miracle we need - the miracle, the miracle we're all waiting for today,
If every leaf on every tree, could tell a story that would be a miracle,
If every child on every street, had clothes to wear and food to eat,
That's a miracle,
If all God's people could be free, to live in perfect harmony,
It's a miracle, we're having a miracle on earth,
Mother nature does it all for us
Open hearts and surgery, Sunday mornings with a cup of tea,
Super powers always fighting,
But Mona Lisa just keeps on smiling,
The wonders of this world go on,
It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle,
The one thing we're all waiting for, is peace on earth and an end to war,
It's a miracle we need, the miracle, the miracle,
Peace on earth and end to war today,
That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends.
