The neon “Smoking” was once part of “Smoke and Mirrors” a pop up, exclusive club that was at The Standard Hollywood but closed in 2012. This was one of those clubs that are not open to the public and hidden. It appears that although Smoke and Mirrors left The Standard Hollywood a couple years ago, the neon was left behind and is still part of The Standard Hollywood. Nice to know that some things live on.

“LMD will hit radio stations around the world….”

We are getting reports from AVICII fans and Adam fans around the world that LMD will be released to radio worldwide at the end of April. And the song has been released to radio stations in Australia, Poland, France and Brazil.

So there are two big questions…

1. Will LMD be a global hit?

2. Will the US and Canada be part of the “WORLD” or will we be left out?

I guess we will just have to wait and see!

As of now, the best guess is that LMD will be released worldwide from now through May with a staggered release. But there is no word about the US and Canada. Time to cross your fingers, and throw out some good thought to the Universe!!

Avicii intends to make us dance again all this summer. The DJ has a new single for the radios. He picked the excellent "Lay Me Down" to keep holding the colors of his first album "True". Listen to it!

And five! Avicii is sending a fifth track from his album "True" to the French radios. After shining in the charts with the hit "Wake Me Up", recorded with the Aloe Blacc's voice (and sold at 200,000 copies), the Swedish DJ proposed "Hey Brother" and "You Make Me" and "Addicted to You", which gave him a very successful career in the charts and on the radios. Four singles that have become four hits in less than a year and helped the album "True" to expose excellent numbers. It was released in September 2013 and had nearly 100,000 fans/sellings. Same story with our European neighbours and the United States! So the album has attracted nearly 1.5 million listeners all around the world.

It's not about to calm down because a new single is coming. Avicii chose the track "Lay Me Down" . The DJ slows a bit the tempo with this track but it is as striking/powerful as the previous ones. He can believe that he will sign this year again the summer hit, as he invited two heavy weights on this title (ndlr : i translated litterally the expression but i don't know if it exists in English, it is used for a very famous and/or very talented person). It's the pope of disco-funk, who came back gracefully last year with Daft Punk, Nile Rodgers who co-wrote and worked on the music of the song. The pop singer Adam Lambert, who has also a credit for the writing, gives/lends his voice on this title which is efficient and making you dance. The song, that the French should hear very soon, was shortened/cut to fit to the radio format.

Uh, has Adam Lambert been hanging around with Rihanna? Because he’s quickly on his way to becoming her male hair chameleon counterpart. Only a few days after the singer debuted a Katy Perry-esque green hue, Adam’s on to the next–white hair. He captioned his car selfie “White Hair Don’t Care,” which, if you remember, was the very same caption he used when he posted his green 'do. You can't just "not care" about your hair but constantly change it, Adam! Which color do you care about? For now I feel safe betting on white. Tomorrow could be a different story.

Either way, we are 100% behind this new look. A white dye job hasn’t looked this good since Halle Berry championed it as Storm in X-Men. Of course, Anderson Cooper might try to take credit for this look's growing popularity, but the natural white haired look doesn’t really compare to the intentional one, which has a sort of cool irreverence.

We don’t want to get too attached to Adam’s new hair though because who knows how long it will last. If and/or when Adam gets bored with the whole monotone dye job, we recommend he try out Kesha’s approach: every color under the sun at once! "Rainbow hair don't care" has a nice ring to it, IMHO.

First it was “Green Hair Don’t Care“, now the man with the golden voice, Adam Lambert has changed up his look again!

Posting to his Instagram account, the ‘Trespassing’ singer shared his newest dew sporting some pretty awesome white hair.



I’m not sure if that means the green hair from earlier this week was an unfortunate dyeing accident or if he just got sick of it. One way or the other, I like the white better.

Q3 note: There is a lot of inaccurate information about this track posted online -- even in reliable Queen sites. I have done my best to find the best and most verifiable information. For example, Wikipedia and Queen sites say it was only performed in North America, but the are recordings and setlist of performances from Argentina and Japan. And I happen to own the single, not a fan club promo single, not a white label promo, but a real single with a picture cover in English that I bought at Tower Records in the US. It is not even a rare item. So if I have incorrect info, please post in the thread and I will update it.

This might not make the list of likely songs for Queen fans who did not see them perform it in concert which was limited to the US, Canada, Japan and Argentina (1980 – 1982). It is a song that was at its best live, and for some reason, there really are no good live recordings. One of the problems with the live recordings is the audience was so loud when they performed it. It was often performed in a medley with another Queen rock song. I am not sure if this will make my final setlist guess, but I am certain that there will be a bit more rock music when Queen plays North America vs. London, and since this is a song that Roger and Brian both like, it could make it into a Queen rock medley.

“Rock It (prime jive)” is just plain rock and roll. Two versions of this track were produced: One with Freddie on vocals (Freddie and Brian's favorite) and another with Roger on vocals (Roger, John and producer Mack's favorite). To end the arguments about which version should make the album, Mack joined the two versions resulting in the album version. That is why the album track begins with Mercury singing the intro and then Roger singing the rest of the song -- an unusual arrangement that actually works and elevates this track.



The track was released on the B-Side of “Need Your Loving Tonight” as a Queen Fan Club Promo single in 1980. It was also released as the B-Side of “Need Your Loving in the US, Canada and Japan in 1981.
This single is not listed as an official single released on most Queen sites, but the singles exist and these red label versions are not promo singles.

Need Your Loving Tonight - Rock it (prime jive) 7" ps (Elektra P-654E) was also released as a white label promo with a picture cover in Japan. The term "White Label Promo" (often abbreviated as WLP) refers to a promotional pressing with a label that has mostly the same text and label logo/artwork as the commercial label, but with a white background instead of the color or artwork found on the commercial pressings.

Plain WLP recordings were produced in larger quantities by bigger record labels and distributed as demos/promo samples to music distributors, major retailers and radio stations to assess consumer opinion. They had two purposes, they were used to promote albums before release and they were used to test songs with radio stations. The timing of the WLPs of NYOT/RI were well after the release of the album and were used to test the water for a potential single promotion.

“Need Your Loving Tonight” was written by John Deacon and is a bit like Queen doing a New Wave song. It never charted and is usually not even listed as a Queen single release.
I am not certain about this, but I believe this was intended to be a single and the plan was aborted as the band shifted from rock to the synth-heavy direction of Hot Space (1982).
