NEW: Professional Photos From Sweet Sixteen Party
Julia's Sweet Sixteen
This was such a fabulous event put on by The JDK Group and Planned Perfection, with the talent of Shumaker PDT, House of Clarendon, persnickety invitation studio, Mixed-Up Productions, Leslie Gilbert Photography, Ice Concepts, Inc., Shelbi Harmes, Carmina Cristina, POSH Bridal, Event Central and so many more that I can't even name.
One of the biggest surprises was Adam Lambert who came for a personal meet and greet and played a full concert for Julia's party. It truly was and AMAZING day!
Also, a huge thank you for Artemas Mott and Mike Allebach for helping me cover this event!

The 2014 "Part-of-the-World" Queen + Adam Lambert Tour Countdown!
4.25.14 by Q3
The countdown moves on and the start of this epic tour gets closer. Only 55 days to go!
#55 “Is This the World We Created...?” (1984)
Written by: Freddie Mercury and Brian May.
Released on The Works.
This is one of my favorite Queen songs. It is also one of Brian May’s favorite Queen songs. I do not think this song will be on the Queen + Adam Lambert Tour setlist but I would love to hear this song performed live by Queen with Adam singing it. If not this, then I hope he sings one or two quiet, acoustic songs.

"Is This the World We Created...?" was written in Munich after Mercury and May watched the news of poverty in Africa. Mercury wrote most of the lyrics and May wrote the chords and made small lyrical contributions. The song was recorded with an Ovation but live May used Taylor's Gibson Chet Atkins CE nylon-stringed guitar. A piano was tracked at the recording sessions for this song, but ultimately not included in the final mix.
“Is This the World We Created...?” was written as a last-minute replacement for "There Must Be More To Life Than This", which had been written in 1981 and intended for the Hot Space album and again for The Works as the album closer. "There Must Be More To Life Than This" finally ended up on Freddie's solo record Mr Bad Guy.
A piano version was recorded, though it is uncirculated among collectors. Any version with piano that has been leaked to the public is likely to be a fan recording / mix.
"We were looking at all the songs we had and we just thought the one thing we didn't have was one of those little acoustic things, the Love Of My Life type of things. One of us said, "OK, I'm gonna go back and do it... go back and think about it", but Brian... I just said, 'Brian, why don't we just think of something right here?', and that song just evolved in about two days, he just got on acoustic and I just sat next to him, we just worked it together. I came up with the lyrical side and then he came up with the chords, and something just happened and it's the first time that... we never had... see, if I actually thought before this that Brian and I should sit down and write a song together, I don't think it would happen, because then all kinds of egos... and who does what... this way we didn't have to think about it, we just sort of went in there, and it seemed to work, it was sort of quite strong, it worked very well as a tail end of the album. I wouldn't like to say I wrote all the lyrics, Brian helped, but I remember most of the lyrics of that song are mine, Brian probably did help with a line here and there."

“Is This the World We Created...?” Earthrise Version (1994)
Earthrise Version of Is This The World We Created...? by Queen. Released on the 'Earthrise' compilation album released in October 1994. Nothing different besides the rainforest effects added at the end, but an 'interesting' addition nonetheless. Written by Freddie Mercury and Brian May.

“Is This the World We Created...?”
Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need
Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law?
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today?
The world that we created
You know that every day a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by
Is this the world we created?
We made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated
Right to the bone?
If there's a God in the sky looking down
What can he think of what we've done
To the world that He created?
