DSMN has such I beautiful piano intro that it started me thinking about how I can recognize Freddie on piano. I know that Freddie did not think highly of his own piano playing. I find it very pleasant and it works well for his songs and with his voice. I have read references to it being unique but my piano skill are limited to "schoolgirl" lessons. I can hear a difference when he plays these songs vs. covers. Can someone who knows music, explain why it sounds different? Here is a YT compilation of some of his piano solos.... youtu.be/oMV_5ye5al0 The thing about Freddie's piano playing to me is how rhythmic it is. The piano is almost like a secondary percussion instrument easily as to the beat as Rog's drum/John's bass. When it is uptempo pieces it is more evident, but even in the legatto ballady songs it comes through how tempo controlling even the most fluid of his playing. It really is kind of unique, Many keyboardists use it merely for expression while Freddie uses it for so much more without being "technically" as wowing if that makes sense. But I can always tell it's him. Also that and if it uses an Eb Bb/D Cm run it's definitely Freddie....he loved that chord progression!

Gosh, I started something.
First of all, you guys need to separate lists that show earnings per year (i.e. for 2013 - May to May, if it is Forbes), from reports that look at Net worth.
Net worth, is of course the overall more interesting number to establish a person's 'wealth', but there are a few challenges.
1) even more guesswork is involved than in the earnings numbers, lots of estimation 2) we are comparing artists with different length of career and therefore different length of time to accumulate that wealth 3) These articles are notoriously unreliable
I have no idea where Kris Allen sits on any table, because I do not follow his career, but I do know that he was listed as 1.1 million earnings the first year (the one that Adam was below 1 mil and did not get listed) and KA was listed as 900K the second year. I don't think that he made nothing since then, even though I have no clue about what he does year in -year out. So, I don't think that a net worth of 2.5 mil is impossible, even if it seems high. He does not come across as a big spender to me and his wife worked for many years. They may have a good nest egg and may make enough to live off their current earnings just fine. I am just going to accept the number, because I have no reason to doubt them.
As far as Adam is concerned, net worth of 10 I'll go along with, maybe only 8 mil. For 13 mil, as stated above, I would want to see how somebody came up with that. I don't buy that.
He was under 1 mil for May 09 - May 10, and if I recall right, at about 2 mil the following year. Since then, he had 2 years with either 6 mil, and for the latest (until May 2014) we of course have no numbers yet. So, that makes about 15 million in earnings, before this year. Let's assume he made another 6 million. That makes 21 mil.
As we all know, the earnings for an artist are not his to take home. There are many people who get paid from this, managers, accountants, band, etc. Also, the tax man wants his cut, and that is certainly substantial.
Adam also loves his bling, and clothes and is generous towards others, drives an expensive car. Spending all adds up. If you invest in an house, you have an asset on your books, which minus the mortgage, counts for something. Clothes, not so much....at least if you cannot sell them for 10 fold on eBay quite yet.
I have no way of knowing how it all breaks down, but it just does not pass the sniff test that Adam would have a net worth of 15 mil, sorry. I do agree though, that his outlook is great and things will only go up from here. But for present numbers, let's be a bit more cautious, when throwing numbers out into the universe.
ETA: And my estimate that he is somewhere in slot 5 to 8, when it comes to net worth, on any list that contains all idols, seems to still hold.

Since it's another slow day.....Just saw this commercial on TV. Seems there are quite a few commercials using Queen music references.

Talon, I totally agree with you. Very rhythmical, his temperament is very much showing through in his piano playing. I love it too.
