Quick notes from what I could catch a. Visually amazing! b. nice set list for the beginning, wish they had spread out the surprises a bit more...and without actually scoring I hunk Q3 will beat me by one because I thought they'd skip '39....unless Brian did part of last horizon in his solo c. Can't wait to see the show. It seems more old school performance in the grand Queen tradition. d. I'm going to do it. Weigh in on the crown. Now you know I'm not an OTT Queen fan and you know I appreciate Adam and enjoy his performance but I thought the crown was tasteless. All the other Schlick with the couch and the outrageous costumes was all good but the crown? That was Freddie's ending in 1986 and for someone who is it trying to replace Freddie, it's a move that is against what he's trying. And what's worse is that Adam had been slowly winning some over...I have a feeling this might lose him some ground with some of those who he had been winning....and that's a shame. You may dismiss the above rant as taking it too seriously or that I should just get over it and that's fine. We all have our opinions. It doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the shows or I'm turning into a hater but I didn't likes it. And if it bothered me at al..someone so open and approving of everything QAL have done...maybe that says something. but enough negative. I'm glad the. Road enjoyed themselves,,.the set looks awesome and I can't wait to see it myself soon! Talon, I have absolutely loved and appreciated you on this board and am happy for you to say what you feel, so I don't see this as 'negative' at all. I intensely dislike discussions that are framed in oppositional terms, or from a 'versus' comparative position. I find those pointless and truly negative. Symbols are very powerful, as you rightly say. I am not a 'diehard' Queen fan, but I have loved them all my life. Even I understand the context for this one. I read the entire Q+AL thread a short time ago and there was nothing there that particularly surprised me. What I took away from it though was a sense that the love for Freddie can at times outweigh an appreciation of Queen as more than the sum of it parts. There is a 'lead and follow' dynamic between entertainers and their fans. Adam has 'slapped' fans at times basically asserting his right as the artist to create and deliver as he pleases. I cannot imagine for one moment that Brian would not have understood the symbolism of what he was doing. And there is no way he would not be aware of the criticism around the slow release of archive material, criticism of other collaborations prior to Adam etc. My gut tells me it was a entirely deliberate, aimed at multiple levels - for the unknowing, simply part of the over-the-top spectacle. For the initiated, he is claiming his right to Queen, to lead it way the surviving members who still want to perform see fit. I have no doubt that Brian and Roger deeply loved Freddie. What I see, which I think is part of the distress some fans feel, is that they are actually growing to love Adam. Freddie was a peer, Adam is like a son. No one who looks closely can misinterpret the dynamic that is happening in front our very eyes. I believe it was unexpected on everyone's part, but it is happening. And I absolutely understand your deep love for Freddie and how much you wish he was still here now and performing now. I agree ,but I have to say that from what Adam and Queen have stated .. this is a major gig ,not a career move. Adam has his own career.. so folks who get bent out of shape ,because of Adam's talent really have nothing to worry about... he will probably be moving on with album#3 and his solo career.. so I wish the chest pounding of grief over Freddie being forgotten or replaced by Adam would somehow stop. it's getting really tiresome.Freddie is dead ,but the music lives on no matter who sings it.. IMHO the problem for some is that Adam just happens to sing the songs better than any other living human being. So can we all give him his due .. because the man is a marvel I truly don't feel like apologizing or worrying about how Freddie's fans feel about Adam. I'm Adam's fan and I think he's brilliant... No angsting from me ,just over whelming joy and appreciation for my guy,Mr. Lambert

You know it's starting to feel like "The Crown" is overshadowing the sheer joy and beauty of this opening night concert. And, if that's the case, it's a darn shame because, above all, it's really all about the MUSIC-and that, above all else is what keeps Freddie Mercury's legacy alive. Thank you, Adam , for helping to do just that.

Road enjoyed themselves,,.the set looks awesome and I can't wait to see it myself soon! "The Queen is Dead, long live the Queen!"Poor taste? Schtick? (Really?) Talon, surely you understand the BAND knew the symbolism of this gesture. The dust, cobwebs and ghosts of the past have been blown the fuck out with the force of an atom bomb! This is not the old Queen and it is not about Freddie. This is a new, revitalized, flesh and hot-blooded, Queen, capable of raw, sweat-producing energy and powerful music. THEY didn't die with Freddie. THEY are alive. THEY have a future full of creativity and I can't wait to see what THEY do next! Who gives a flying fuck what some creaky old Freddie diehards think anyway? If Freddie, himself, floated down with all the Archangels in heaven to personally place that damn crown on Adam's head, the Queen *purists* would still get their dicks in a twist about it. *kneels to the new monarchy* THE BEST POST! IT IS ABOUT THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE AND MUSIC! and NOT ABOUT SHYLY STANDING IN A SHADOW! They all love and revere Freddie and THEY JUST CELEBRATED HIM! IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE! WITH EXCELLENCE AND ABUNDANCE! Talon, I am sure in a few shows you'll see it this way too! and QOL and QZ peeps would've found something not to like anyway... but it will be entertaining - as an added bonus. pop corn time it is!

You forgot the bronze pants with leopard shirt & leopard shoes. Ohh of course how could I forget that. Love those shoes. Covet those shoes. Might have to get a pair of those shoes... (pants not bad either, shirt needs to be unbuttoned more - #shallowend) Love those pants! He wore them at AFTEE show with Nile and Avicii

Yep ... I was thinking that too. Awesome that he gets to retask his expensive and expansive wardrobe.

So let's recap the costumes: leather bad boy; purple couches and gold fringe goodness; white pants (nothing more required there)...: and leopard suit. So what happened to the red? Not that I'm complaining. Oh and waiting patiently for some of our incoherent atoppers who were there to check in. Once they regain the power of speech of course...! I have decided that the red refers to the lighting and lasers. and the couch was red...the light made it purple...

I love Adam's bad boy biker outfit, so HOT. I'm going crazy waiting to hear the video of Killer Queen, my fav Queen song. I love how much Roger, Brian and the rest of the band are really coming to love Adam. The more chemistry and genuine care they all have for each other the more magic their music will create for all of us to enjoy. I'm so happy Adam is able to do this tour and pay homage to his idol Freddie. I think the true Queen fans will love the "camp", it's what makes Adam so great as a front man and it really shows how much Adam "gets" Queen.
