Queen kicked off their latest US tour in Chicago last night with all the flair and theatricality you'd come to expect. And the band were joined by vocal virtuoso Adam Lambert who took the role of lead singer. Before the tour began fans and critics alike worried that the former American Idol contestant would try and fail to fill the shoes of the legendary Freddie Mercury, but Lambert did no such thing. He delivered the hits with a style and panache all of his own, and insiders are confident that he’ll continue to impress throughout the tour. Reviewers also praised the camaraderie between singer and band. Last night’s setlist contained a new live version of the Freddie Mercury solo track Love Kills, as well as all the iconic hits including We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions.

Ok I'm back from having slept on it....and I probably overreacted a bit. It was an in the moment feeling when really it was meant to be an homage and a humorous moment. Freddie would have found it amusing. I still don't love it, but it won't affect me anymore...and I won't bring it up again (unless in response). And of course, I can always take solace in the fact that... At least Freddie's crown was bigger
