6.19.14 Adam News and Info

This morning my daughter called me about 6:30 at work to say my SIL was listening to his favorite Rock station on his way to work and they were talking about how amazing Queen/Adam are and what a great front man he is!!

I'm stoked for the show tonight! My anticipation level is through the roof. I was so hyped for the iHeartRadio preview set and it did turn out to be the best kind of teaser. I can't count the number of times I've listened to "Love Kills." It's incredible. "Under Pressure" and "Don't Stop Me Now" were my other favorites from the showcase.

Hope everyone going to opening night has a fantastic time. I'm going to see the Queen + Adam Lambert concert at Madison Square Garden and I can't wait!

I don't understand why neither Adam nor his PR nor anyone in Queen's camp posted the terrific Grammy.com review of the iHeartRadio performance. Maybe because it wasn't tagged? Maybe they didn't see it? They've posted so many other less weighty articles in the past. The Grammy.com piece was so complimentary and spotlighted everyone.

It's only the middle of the year, and already we've had great Adam appearances on Glee and Idol and news about him recording his album. This tour is such a high peak, and still it feels like things are ramping up and up and up for him.

After reading Adam's latest interview with Rolling Stone, it seems there's still a possibility he'll have an album out in November/December, but it also sounded like there's a chance it won't be released this year. Maybe they are going to release "Lay Me Down" in a couple of months in the States after all and will need to wait until afterward to release the first single from his own CD? To have his debut single follow on the heels of a hit collaboration would make a smoother path with radio.

If that turns out to be the case, it has maybe worked out for the best, for me anyway (possibly Adam, too), because I don't know how I would have mentally juggled both this rock tour and LMD during the summer; hard to imagine how my brain would have handled the juxtaposition (that lots of fans outside of the U.S. are dealing with). My brain is currently occupied and filled to the brim with Queen, Queen, Queen.

(Although I will say that I do dream of losing my mind in a preshow dance party at MSG when they play LMD and other Adam songs in the arena before the concert starts. I think the concert should be a pure Queen show. And I think that's what Adam wants. But it seemed like during the press conference when they announced the tour that Brian and Roger wanted to give him the chance to feature some of his own music. If that happens, I would love it if they did the "Dragon Attack"/(abbreviated, maybe just a taste)"Shady" mashup that Adam does in his own shows.

My other dream is that Nile comes out at Madison Square Garden to perform with them on "Shady," then stays to play on "Another One Bites the Dust," then Bowie comes out and joins them on "Under Pressure," then they play a Bowie song/Nile and Bowie song. Or something like that. I'm not picky about the order of the set list, LOL. : ) )


So excited to see the surprises in store for us tonight!!! I'm sure it'll be something I could not dream.
