Not sure if current jag of Adam vids have permanently altered my hearing but watching the Voice Oz tonight was just painfully bad. Only a couple of singers even managed to stay on key through the song. Mostly awful song choices by coaches. Weak (ok no) constructive critism - where's Simon when you need him... Yikes it's going to be a long road to the winner if this keeps up. But on the bright side list of QAL to cleanse my ears with... Off to re listen to WWTLF from Winnipeg I think.
maybe they might have QAL appear on finale - timing would be about right (a girl can hope right).

Okay, just have to post this again. I think because I have studied so many videos of Adam, I really love the details. He overall is, of course, going to be stupendous, no doubt about it. But I love the smaller stuff.
Like ~4:18 in this video after he has turned to Roger, the song ends and he gives that little restrained but to me so powerful sort of sideways fist pump. And he is so charged up that he has to give a little whoop to the mike.
I think this is composed of so many things. To my mind Adam really strives to inhabit a song.
As he was singing I could imagine him thinking about Freddie, feeling the circumstances in which the song was written, how Freddie must have felt, the layers of meaning, the full rich depth of that song, the meaning to him also. And here he is singing with rock legends. The show is obviously a sell out success. He has outfits! And shoes!
I always remember the time his music teacher said that Adam came to her after school, had apparently had an emotional day, started to talk to her about it, and then just said, "can I just sing it to you?" Imagine having an art that it was easier to converse in than speech. Incredible. Soul deep, bone deep. And I think that is what his singing is. He is always communicating his feelings. And I feel that when I listen to him. And I know you do too.
So I just imagine what it must feel like when he knows he has been successful. That it has all come together, even for his self acknowledged pickiness. The voice, the feeling, the band. Plus Queen, plus production, plus a huge loving welcoming audience.
For me, that's what that 4:20 moment was. I am so so happy for him. He has given me so many of those moments. Glad to see him having one.
