Mirages, Thank you so much for sharing your concert experience with us. I'll be going to the Philly concert on July 16 and I'll post here after the concert but I'm sure that I won't be able to express myself as well as you did.

My QAL journey, a tale of two cities part 1 Edmonton My late to the thread recap Mirages and wingsof butterflies have written masterful accounts, so my few musings are more personal than concert oriented. Kim and I ventured from Calgary to Edmonton for concert 1. We did the West Edmonton Mall, headed to our hotel and voila! Upon opening the drapes we overlooked the main entrance to Rexall place, and the truck n roll lineup. Being of somewhat sound mind, yet with fan ninja smiles on our faces, we set out to explore and check out the venue grounds. We were above the underground entrance in our journey, when we did a 180 and briskly picked up our pace...haha... when seeing a black SUV limo pulling into the lower entrance to the venue. A second followed but there was no unloading of passengers outside. It went inside the building. Two venue employees dashed in and later came back outside smiling!! We went back to the hotel, no smiles. Lol (not really ..just getting excited for what was to come.) Pre-concert: We were on time, near the front of the line-up, the doors opened a half hr late, and we immediately stepped into the merchandise line. After an anxious half hour we were realizing, we would never get to the merch table before the concert start. I said to a venue staff...darn, guess we will not get our stuff, she said not to worry, the start time was 8:15pm. LIKE why don’t they announce that. Happy with our shirts and my program...we had time to kill, and a second shot at a bathroom run! As a thought...be a good fan and pick out what you want as you are getting close enough to see the items, and only fuss on the size when you get to the table. There are a hundred behind you! Concert: We had great seats on the side, lower tier, equal to ahead of the thrust. My ears felt a little fuzzy for hours after the concert...contributing to my very mellow state after the concert... appreciating the spirit of what I had just seen and heard. Beyond my expectations! Brilliant showmanship lighting and staging! Proud for them all! Then off to debrief the concert with mirages and kim over drinks and appi’s. We were all feeling “a warmth of spirit”. As mirages said in her recap...I pointed out how Brian half ran down the ramp back to the stage, and how different that was from London where he was suffering with his knee... limping, and almost bent over at times. A knee operation and Adam Lambert... enough to put a kick in one’s step again (physically and emotionally). The youtubes and comments have bought to life the visual, so no need to comment on moments. There is no match for living the live experience, the chanting of WWRY and the whole stadium lifting the roof off, doing the wave cheer for many minutes prior to concert start... the sweet surprises... usually movements, the faces, the interaction of the band, the roar of the appreciation/applause. Next day: Driving back in the rain, I was sorry that Adam and Queen/crew would see Calgary in a dreary light considering it is known for being sunny Alberta. There were 4 hours more to reminisce with kim over the concert and share in our personal life as well. Adam Lambert causing fans to create new connections, and friendships is a pretty amazing part of the Adam journey. And special thanks to Q3 for supporting this thread to allow that to happen for me.Part 2 will be in the Calgary thread...but I am off to a football game this afternoon, so it will be later today. If I thought Edmonton was great...I agree with wingsofbutterflies---for me....the Calgary concert was a step above! I was floating! And I’ll explain why... ....and it had nothing to do with drugs. As an aside, there was a group of 4, two rows in front of kim and I who were smoking weed, and were instructed to stop! Haha! We were not quite close enough to enjoy the residuals of their second hand smoke!
