With regard to the Adam Freddie comparisons. I hope that Adam is smiling all the way to the bank!! Can't wait for the next album and tour.

Make that for two people. But, we have discussed this many times before. I know it will never be politically correct to favor Adam over Freddie in looks, voice, stage presence, clothing, dance and movement style, interaction with the band or interaction with the audience. So, you and I will just find a closet somewhere and squee together. Is there room in that closet for another fan???? Seriously, I'm am so sick of the comparison comments. Headbanger1It's not like Queen could have chosen between Freddie or Adam. Too bad so many can't just accept Adam + Queen for what it is now-FANTASTIC on all levels!

This is my review of the last night. I was in Edmonton on the 3rd row floor and it was PHENOMENAL, but Calgary was BLOODY PHENOMENAL (is that even an expression???). The two nights comprised two very different experiences. First one – surrounded by some loud hard-core male Queen fans and some of us Glamberts, a mixture that can give you pretty biased impressions. The guy right beside me on the fourth row informed his friends that he was going to fly to Vegas to see the show again. Adam Lambert was fine. But he was there for the music. At least he did not completely ignore him. By the end of the show he was cheering so loud for Adam that I had to cover my ears. Haha...... Last night I was in a 200ish section filled with casual Queen fans and as it turned out closeted Adam fans. I had a very good friend of mine from Holland, who happened to visit Calgary this week. He bought a ticket to see them the second I told him about the show. He knows about my Adam-addiction, has seen the EMA video and “has approved”! Queen was his childhood love! To be honest I felt so much more comfortable with him close to the rafters than on the 3rd row.... Before the show, the lady with her husband next to us, both in their late 30, asked my friend who we were there for. My friend answered Queen and she said Queen in response. Them my friend proceeded to tell her that he was there with a huge Adam fan and pointed at me. And then the lady told us she liked him on idol. Then the show started so we did not converse more. After the first song I decided to sit next to her and I and my fiend changed our seats. And then the lady suddenly told me with a huge smile that she LOVED Adam on idol, but never seen him live and she thought he was the only one who could sing Queen. I told her she would not be disappointed! Ha! After AOBTD, she joined me screaming madly for him!!! So there you go, I believe this would be a typical example of a closeted Adam fan last night. And there were tons of them in the arena. Many teenage girls, too!!!
One really needs to see the show from above to appreciate the grandiose Q, lighting, and of course to hear Adam’s voice in all its glory. Saddledome is notorious for its bad sound. While it is was not perfect, it was good enough to cause a massive jaw drop during STL. It was astounding!!! Many people in our section and adjacent sections jumped on their feet and cheered wildly for Adam!!!! And I could clearly see everybody in the first level was giving him a standing ovation!!! BTW, the floor people sat only during Love of my live! My friend was astounded by his voice. Adam spitting the “champagne”, as well as his shoe display on the couch and comments, cracked my friend up and many others. Maybe this is the moment I should say that Adam and the band were very loose in Edmonton, but last night they were even more! So a day-off is really important for them. You could tell band’s energy reached a new high last night. Upon hearing the excellent audio recording of Edmontons show, I thought that I could hear a bit of tiredness in Adams voice. But in Calgary his voice was glorious!!! At least, this is how I heard it. I hope we will get again the audio from the Queen fan, which I will burn on a CD and treasure forever. I need to stop at this moment because my toddler is screaming and running around. (End of part one)
