Ok, here it goes. First, I have to admit that I was an Adam Lambert Live virgin until today. I have seen nearly every video and recording in the last 5+ years, but as anyone who has been to a live event with AFL will tell you, you are UNPREPARED and you have no idea what the Real Thing is. I have to say that WWTLF alone was worth the price of admission. The audience loved the Brian and Roger part of the show very much, of course. Brian's solo is wonderful, and no video recording technology can capture the beauty of the laser show, or the live sound of his instrument. Under Pressure During the slower middle section, I had pulled out the Etymotics a bit to listen to the unfiltered awesomeness, but when TSMGO came, I was suddenly on the "chipmunk" train and had to plug them back in to get the right sound. In conclusion, if you are going to your first concert in the coming days, nothing can prepare you for what it really is. If you are going to YET ANOTHER concert on this tour, I so envy you, I might be turning green... Thrilling for you to finally see the live version, and I loved reading your thoughts as much as your writing style. Thanks! Knowing every word of lyrics....my god man, you are a fan! The bolded comments hit me...dead on. WWTLF.....nothing more needs saying than your words. I appreciated the comment re the laser show...we are on the same page about those moments in time...and no one else seemed to choose to comment on it. That laser show during Brian's solo was a highlight for me. My Edmonton seat only allowed a nice perception of a nice laser show. The Calgary concert with a straight ahead view ... I saw the illusion ...I described it in detail in my recap, as I could not resist. The ingenuity to create that visual from structure, steel and lights. A person needs more than one show, as a diverse seating change gives one a whole new view, and for me, even the sound can differ... chipmunk or no chipmunk effect. Darn, sorry to hear you suffered a bit from that! But so happy for you....that time flew out the window and you were present in QAL time!

OMG! The mutual LOVE, RESPECT, ADMIRATION and SYNERGY are off the scale! Roger was so full of emotions he needed to express that he DID KISS Adam's hand! And Adam was truly moved! I wish I could figure out his words, but too much crowd noise! This whole experience is just so full of joy and fulfillment, even for me, watching the YTs...I am only trying to imagine how it must feel to all those on that stage! ----------------- Krypto - THANK YOU! I am so happy you finally experienced it all LIVE! Great recap!

LovelyBosoms chunkeymonkey81 27m Brian got shoulder cuddles. Roger kissed his hand. If Rufus doesn't plant one on his lips next I will be very disappointed...

Did they perform DSMN? Was there a bass solo by Neil? Yes, there was a bass solo. Including Body Language, and Roger drumming on the bass. No, they did not perform DSMN, they went with Version 2 of the set list :( Snif! I love DSMN! When I was a kid back in the communist days behind the Iron Curtain, we could not buy records of most western rock groups. So we had copies from copies on cassettes from friends who got the records who knows where. Quality wasn't very good, but it was better than nothing. So my version of Jazz would cut off the end of DSMN and it drove me mad for years. Thankfully, things changed in 1989 and once I could travel the world, I finally got to hear the whole song! So I was really looking forward to hearing it live, and was a bit let down. As for the rest, I will post my impressions shortly. An interesting fact though - as I mentioned, there was barely any official rock must available officially for purchase in communist Bulgaria in the 80s. But nevertheless, the Bulgarian recording company Balkanton issued a version of the Queen Greatest Hits record (both vynil and compact cassettes) sometime around 83 or so! One of the very few western acts that the Powers were OK with for some reason. Because Queen were too awesome? Who knows... I want to add that, in 80s, Queen were on radio all the time in our country kryptoman68 is talking about. Well, at that time we had only two radio stations. So this really shows how popular Queen were in Europe. kryptoman68, a great review!!! Happy that you finally heard the majesty of his voice live!

True confessions - I've always hated Adam's fingerless gloves (not just Adam's that style in general). #freethehands I guess they go with that biker-style jacket and if they help him get into the right place to perform like that OK with me. I do not notice them because the rest of that outfit is so great. But not my favorite look either. My impression (don't have any facts to base it on) is that Adam does not like his freckles. Maybe he got teased a lot about them as a kid? But, he doesn't think they are "rock star." Looking down at his hands and seeing a sea of freckles does not please him, so he wears the gloves. Too bad. Cuz I just luuuuv all the freckles!

Thanks, kryptoman, for your awesome review! It sounds like you had a blast. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences; it's so much fun to re(live) the concerts through others!

"Now, this is it. This what is basic here. This is two people, a singer and a guitar player (and all the band, of course) There are no dancers. There are no costumes. There is just the music, the voice. The basics. They need no stinkin' stuff. They have the talent. They don't need to distract or obfuscate. They are the real deal. No wonder we are so captivated."
redpanda - THAT is it, Exactly
