I had the asshole security guard who stood rooted into one spot - directly in front of me. I was lucky to get a last minute seat right next to the end of the catwalk at the beginning of the row. Should have had an incredible unobstructed view. I had to spend the whole night side stepping to see around him for pictures and a couple of videos. The lady in the seat in the next row was vary gracious to let me invade her space to get some pictures and the video. I asked very politely if he could perhaps split the difference so I wouldn't be dodging his fat head all night but he just smirked and said nothing. Fucker. Anyway, here are a couple of pics. There are so many out there not sure that there are any that would be more amazing than what has been posted already. Great pics! I know the feeling about the security guard. I was front row in front of the thrust with this huge security guard planted directly in front of me. I asked him if he was going to move around and he said no... would have been blocking my view completely all night! Thank goodness he switched out and then the replacement guard moved to the end right before the show started so the whole front row was unobstructed except for the videographer. I feel so fortunate and am sorry that so many had bad experiences. I've tried to post as many videos as possible, and I promise I kept the iphone low and didn't block anybody's view with it.

4EverAdam -- No wonder I couldn't find you in your section! Lucky ducky! I am going to be looking at how I might be able to sneak in another concert as we discussed.....

Hey everybody -- Here is my overdue recap of Saturday's concert. Since everyone has already said much of what I would have said I will hit some of the highlights that I saw and felt. First, I must say hi to 4EverAdam who I met up with on Saturday morning and wandered around part of the harbor with. We were trying to find the Olympic cauldron but never found it. That's okay--she bought me ice cream! The flavor she chose was a little melty and mine was not, so she said (with a straight face) "well, at least yours is hard". At this point, I know I made a snarky comment and I hope she didn't blow ice cream out her nose! I may be a pastor, but I'm not humor-free (and I have a dirty mind, which helps). Anyway, after our time together I can say that 4EverAdam is a very cool person--and I want to hide in her suitcase for the concerts she is going to on the East Coast next month!
After going back to my hotel in the West End section of downtown--next door to the gay village area--yay--I took a nap and then did fast nail polishing so my fingers would be Glambertized (gold sparkly). I went back to the bus stop (close to hotel on one end and arena on the other) and then waited.....until the bus arrived after 1/2 an hour. The driver was hilarious and seemed to know lots of people on the route. An older gentleman sat next to me and chatted to him and me for most of the ride (he was going to the casino--which he called "church"). The driver said they toss the schedule out of the window on week-ends in the downtown area and couldn't even remember how off schedule he was at that point.
By the time I get to the arena I saw the line forming that went up the stairs and was right at the bottom of the stairs until we all herded into the arena. By this point I realized I had worn the WRONG SHOES and my feet were starting to hurt (and they weren't even heels--just sandals that I hadn't worn for awhile...now I remember why). I got into the arena and one of the ushers (nice younger woman) said she was hoping she would work the concert because she is a big fan, and her sister saw the show in Edmonton and told her it was amazing. Then she told me she was the person who tweeted about seeing Adam at Cher the night before! She couldn't figure out how her tweet got so many retweets because she "didn't even use a hashtag" -- I told her that Glamberts will find anything about Adam in a matter of minutes. She got lots of retweets and a bunch of follow up tweets asking what Adam was wearing, etc. She seemed almost distressed that she couldn't answer all their questions! She just said "he's hot". HAH. Got down to my seat, looked around at people and thought about hunting down Adamtopia folks then decided to just hang around my area. Met some nice Glambert sisters who took my picture and a few other Glamberts--including a man in a black and white sequined zebra jacket and hat with a feather!
I don't know what happened when the concert started -- I was only about 7 rows back from the end of the thrust (decent) but also had lots of cell-phone folks in front of me and couldn't ever see Adam's feet! He was pretty close at times, though and looked and sounded amazing. His lower register is really lovely now and much fuller. The bronze outfit he wears for the 2nd act is gorgeous in person and the shirt is really pretty. I don't even have words for Brian May. That was one of the most incredible moments of my life--watching Brian play guitar 30 feet from me... Wow. He was really touched by the loudness of the crowd and our cheering before he sang and had to wait for everyone to calm down. It is very clear that this group is truly functioning as a single unit--they act like a band. They are also having a great time, which is lots of fun to see. It was also VERY LOUD and I kept putting my earplugs in and taking them out...with them in I could hear the resonances in Adam's voice better but with them out I could really feel more a part of the action. Yes, I sang and clapped and waved my hands! Fabulous. The lasers and light show are fabulous, and the mirror ball comes down much further than it looks in pictures and hangs right over Adam and Brian. Magical. I think I was on overload from about the second song and couldn't even process what was happening. It went on and on...and then ended! Sadness! Feet HURT! After the concert I tried to hobble back to the bus stop and then waved down a taxi because...I just couldn't hobble anymore. It was worth it.
By the way, at the end of the concert, a nice-seeming woman looked at me from her chair a few rows in back of me, and when I walked by her she said, "you wouldn't be from Adamtopia...revlisacat" -- to which I said, yes! It was LadyOz who came to see the show from Australia and visit her son! She was so sweet, too! and now I really have to go visit Australia and New Zealand to meet up with everyone there! Lovely time all around--but now I need to see the show again from a slightly higher level and a little closer to the stage. My seat was great for the small stage, but not for the action on the main stage--and my only complaint is that Adam does not come out on the thrust much at all during the last half of the concert, until the encore. And that leopard suit and crown are something else in person! Sweaty Adam with a sparkly crown.....
Bless! Lisa

revlisacat - Had a great time. So nice to meet other members of Atop. Not sure how many miles we walked around the harbor but it was fun and so glad the sun came out - a bit. The ice cream was good, although a bit soft. Love your recap. So much fun. I will say I ran into someone from another forum that I met in Chicago. She only lives 10 miles from me - little did we know. We ended up in the same hotel. We went on quite the adventure getting to Rogers arena, got escorted to the floor (through the back hallways because she has difficulty with stairs- and Jet (the security man in charge,) who came to rescue us from the floor with no way out after the elevator person dropped us off and said "Find Security, they will help you" , was carrying the set list for the night. We asked for copies and he actually brought them to our seats. It wasn't quite accurate because they did not do DSMN but we have a copy of the set list - hand delivered. Anyway, quite the memorable evening in more ways than one. Edit: I will say it is a lovely evening. I am sitting on the patio with sun shinning and trying to catch up on videos and pictures that have been posted. Safe travels to all those going to San Jose. Looks like there is a live stream so I will be glued to the computer watching tomorrow evening. Thanks again to everyone for the amazing wealth of pictures and videos and recaps.

I'm back home and ready to write my re-cap too! I've been trying to read a few re-caps first and I've got to say, Seoulmate, yours was the funniest and the "awfulest" at the same time. I'm glad you were able to get there, though.
My two companions and I have never seen Adam before, although my cousin saw Queen when they rocked Vancouver in the 70's. We walked over the Cambie St. bridge and arrived at Rogers Arena at 7:00pm to discover a very long lineup. The weather was great and the crowd was happy and once the doors opened, things moved very quickly. None of us had purses and we were inside within ten minutes to find that we were exactly at our section and the washrooms and merchandise were right there. I bought a shirt for myself and a bag for my daughter. We found our seats and sat down to watch the place fill up. Jablea popped up and introduced herself, so that was fun to make a connection with an Atopper from Idaho!
My daughter and I have never been in a venue with so many people and it was interesting looking at the diversity of the crowd and trying to decide who was a Glambert and who was a Queen fan. I saw the dressed up Freddie Mercury that Kryptoman described and he and his Mom were among the first to stand up once the music started. Our section was fun -- stood up and rocked out for the fast bits and sat down for the slower songs. There was a certain amount of going back and forth for beer and bathroom breaks, but not enough to bother me. Everyone around me was into it in a good way.
I am really glad I had the fancy earplugs because the crowd was really loud and appreciative. I couldn't believe I was really and truly seeing Adam and my eyes kept jumping from him on stage to him on the screen. His voice is amazing. When I bought a bottle of water, the server kept the cap for security reasons. So I was standing there holding my open bottle and I realized the water vibrated in it when Adam sang!!! That was an interesting phenomenon that no one has mentioned.
I thought it seemed to take a bit for Adam to get going. I wondered if he had been partying after the Cher concert and if he was holding back a bit. He's obviously going to have to pace himself for this tour. The concert is a bit of a blur now because it went by so fast. I noticed that he came back without the fringe to do "Killer Queen" and he seemed to be having a bit of trouble with his sound pack while he was sitting on the couch. He still had fun making fountains though. He made the cutest pout before 'Somebody to Love.' His "Who Wants to Live for Ever" was ethereal. I couldn't see the disco ball and I was so afraid that it wasn't there and then it came out of nowhere and it was so beautiful when Adam touched the beam of light. I really did get goosebumps from that moment! They looked like they were all having so much fun down there and a few times I looked around the audience and enjoyed the lights and the beaming faces. I danced and shouted and clapped and cheered and sang along at appropriate times and I had the bestest time ever. And then I knew it was coming to an end. 'Bohemian Rhapsody' was so heartfelt and it was such a beautiful image of Adam under the big screen paying his respects to Freddie. I felt happy and sad all at the same time during the encore. Adam's crown sparkled and they were gone -- off to the towels and the waiting limos. I took my earplugs out to listen to the crowd roar approval.
We were out of there in no time and walked past the roadie busses and joked about sneaking on board with the security woman. I really enjoyed watching the show from the stands to get the whole effect, but it would be so much fun to see another show up close and personal. Maybe another day when Adam is touring with his own music. A girl can dream!!!
