I have a question for those who attend more concerts than I do. I have read a few reviews saying that Brian May's guitar solo is too long, that the show bogs down during that segment. Just wondering if that length of guitar solo is unusual in a rock concert, or more specifically, in a Queen concert.

But I thought Brian's solo was amazing. And coupled with the laser show makes it just incredible! It is something I will never see again by anyone! Can not be equaled! The 3 shows I went to, he was very much appreciated!

On the DVDs I have, it kinda was his only time to shine, Freddie was so much the center of things. In my opinion, if he wants to do a long solo, fine by me. He's earned it.

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, I couldn't find it so went searching on YouTube. I always like to watch Killer Queen and see how he changes it up. On this vid by Smurfb0219, there's a great wide view so you can see how the setup changes and the big Q goes up and down through Lap of the Gods and Seven Seas of Rhye. I hadn't seen that before, thought it was very cool!

It's typical of a rock concert - especially one with a guitar god....the Led Zeps, the Van Halens, the Eric Claptons, etc. You expect a long guitar solo. Brian is no different. He tends to go anywhere from 9-16 minutes...I personally always thought it was a good thing. It doesn't bog it down, it's a breath of air. A nice pause to let you take it in before you go rushing headlong into the final non-stop part of the show....
