Ride of Fame @rideoffame 6m Tonight’s the night. Watch the dream team that is Queen and @adamlambert perform at Madison Square Garden. bit.ly/1r6AtD9
Queen + Adam Lambert will perform at Madison Square Garden on July 17! Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road. Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’. It was the most anticipated act of the night.” Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to” and the Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.” The threesome first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of “We Are The Champions”. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of “The Show Must Go On”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Ride of Fame @rideoffame Showcasing anything and everything celebrities and NYC in its true fashion. #RideOfFame

I was grousing about having to do airport pickup duty for returning friends at 8 tonight, then had an epiphany that New York time is different than West coast time. Life is once again good. Returning to my stance to avoid needless angst. Not that my current life centers around this tour. Nope. Not at all.

Yay! On the BoltBus heading to NYC!!
As I said on the Headlines thread earlier, this day did *not* start out well. Lots of wailing (myself included). Printer getting balky as I was trying to print tickets. Hammersmith shirt suddenly gone AWOL (was previously enshrined in closet, but husband washed it without telling me). Despite owning at least three pairs of Emoytic earplugs, couldn't find any of them. So after I FINALLY managed to drop my daughter off for her sleepover/camp trip I realized I had less than 40 minutes to get everything together in order to race into downtown DC's Union Station in order to catch my connection to New York.
Frantically running around, stopped looking for my Emyotics, and grabbed the child-sized set I bought for my daughter along with a handful of industrial ones out of my work bag. My toothbrush was missing (WTH??!!), so snatched the first spare I put my hands on under the sink. Princess and the Frog. Wutever. Go into the bathroom at least 4 more times forgetting the ponytail holders I meant to get each time. Under threat of dismemberment, the printer finally prints. Realize I'm so late that my intention of a nice leisurely lunch downtown is an utter farce and therefore grab a couple juice boxes and some I-don't-wanna-know-how-old-it-is jerky out of the snack drawer. Throw some extra phone batteries in my bag. Realize that haven't yet replaced the lipstick I melted in my car earlier, so without even looking grab a random tube out the drawer. I hope its actually lipstick. In a last minute flurry of insanity find the Hammersmith shirt hanging in idiot spot (YAY!!!!) and also toss in bag.
Get into car and hurtle down George Washington Parkway [at a speed that I won't mention to avoid incriminating myself]. Trying all the while to desperately remember where the speed traps are located, because if I get stopped by the police, I absolutely won't make it. Then, despite the fact I lived *on* Capitol Hill for 7 years, my suburban brain is fried and I can't remember the exit for Union Station as I'm barreling through the tunnel. Finally weave my way to Union Station, toss my car in first available slot (gah..can't remember if I locked it or not) and got to the Bolt with 30 seconds to spare.
But now kicking back and relaxing. Out of Maryland. Into Delaware and heading north. Onwards to MSG!!

Oh wait, you are the one who deserves it, so I will just take it for you. Enjoy your virtual nap.
