I just felt I had to write something about my experiece from the MSG consert.
I first became a Glambert two years ago when they played songs from Trespassing on the Radio. I got to hear Adam from the radio several times a day and it was so good I had to go and find some more. Someone had uploaded the trespassing CD to the youtube and I can say it was the first CD ever I could listen to so that I had no need to skip any track from there. and now two years later it made me buy tickets and flights to see Queen+Adam at the MSG. And a trip first time to the States.
I thought that I would travel alone, and it was not a big deal for me, I just wanted to go and do this.
Before this trip I wrote to a another Finnbert here in Adamtopia. She gave me information about the pre-party and we made plans to meet in NY while we were there. We did meet on the day of the consert, went sightseeing and made plans about the pre-party.
When I was leaving to the pre-party and waited for this other adamtopian in the front of my hotel, there were few glamberts that walked by me. I could see that they were Glamberts, but was too shy to say anything. They turned around and asked if I was a Glambert? I was so proud to be able to say that I am! I asked if I look like a glambert and they said yes! I'm nearly 40 years old and had leather pants on, but I was proud about it!
I met a lot of Glamberts at the pre-party and everyone was so friendly and nice. I even got to meet other Finnberts! It is so strange that you need to travel to a different county to meet them
And the consert... I had a seat at the section 106. Before they started to play I was a bit suprised that why people weren't clapping and yelling to get them to the stage? That is something we do in Finland... So if there is some of you who were at the same section, it was me who clapped and yelled like a grazy person there by her self!
I'm still kind of speechless about the consert.. It was surreal and awesome! I think the they had thought the "whole package" theraly. It was like a consert should be, like a journey. I cannot pick up my favorite part, because they all were on their own way.
I was a breathtaking moment when Brian got the standing ovation, and sang Love of my life together with the crowd. I think I forget to breath at some parts of WWLF and TSMGO, just listening the master to hit those notes.I loved the theatrical-part in Killer Queen. When Adam said something about he is not at all like that for real, I just thought that maybe not in his real life, but that is definately something he likes to do on the stage, and I am glad he did it!
Love Kills was in my opinion one of the best versions so far. I'm not an expert to explain why, but there was something different.
When I talked about the "whole package" earlier, I would add that Brian's quitar solo and Roger's solo were a perfect fit for the consert. It was something like you could just listen to the "raw talent".
One of the best parts of the consert was when the hole Madison Square Garden was on their feet (at least what I could see) during the last three songs.
Thank you all fellow glamberts I got to meet on this trip, I hope we will get meet soon again! I am on twitter with a name JaanaHelsing. I don't usually post there that much, so there is no need to start and follow, but as an info to those I met if you would like to go and see photos or something!
This was my first post here so if this should be at some other thread please be kind to move it!
