Did hell freeze over? I thought she didn't like Adam. Not sure, but I believe she doesn't like Glamberts. Mys*&@^#r50 would probably knows better than I. I was late to that party. Didn't jump on the train until after the AI tour was half over. Ok, I guess I'll weigh in on this. MJ has always been super cranky about Adam fans. I started checking out her blog during Season 7 (Cooke), the season before Adam, because the American Idol "sub-culture" was incredibly fun, and I didn't really care that much about who won, having watch noncommitally ever season since the first. I always had a sense that MJ was trying to give fair, even-handed press to all Idol contestants and try not to play favorites. But I distinctly remember watching a live " round table" discussion with MJ, I *think* Michael Slezak, and this odd Rickey superfan (who only diehard AI fans from back in the day would know) after the results where MJ said "if someone put a gun to my head between Kris and Adam, I would have picked Adam." (This when I was in the throes of despair over, lol, and let's not forget that Slesak was rooting for Allison Iraheta and maybe even Kris over Adam). So, I think she always hated how defensive Adam fans would get, but I couldn't help find it a little disingenuous because back in those days, there would be 1,500+ comments on her board on a single Adam post. Now her board has grown and it's not all about AI, but covers all reality shows and because there are bona fide superstars involved in those, it's quite broad. I've been hoping for the day where Adam was big enough I wouldn't feel a need to defend him (like, no one would bother posting defensively about Carrie or Kelly--or about Gaga or any superstar). I've gotten much better about it, though! I really didn't care what I read in NYT or WaPo, or anything. I saw shows in Philly and MSG and both were awesome. So, I miss the days when it was just a simple blog with the tag line "I love this cheesy show"--and I really miss the days when I could watch AI without comparing contestants to Adam--and truth be told, hope they don't do better than him. And, tbh, it's not a part of myself I particularly like. But two things I do give MJ credit for. Having a certain amount of journalistic cred not to leap on every gossip morsel and not posting without verification and being extremely even-handed about covering everyone from the most obscure AI contestants (who, don't forget, is someone's favorite, as Adam is ours) to huge stars. That's not to say her cranky comments and shutting threads down didn't rankle, but I can understand her not wanting to fan fanwar flames.

The twitter list is stalled - peeps have lost control of their senses and forgotten how to use their thumbs.
