random thoughts from my concert experiences (Mohegan Sun & Boston) the boston arena, ~twice the size of the more intimate MS, was pretty much filled. I could see only a small patch of empty seats way up in the back. boston fans anticipated the encore by clapping out the WWRY drumbeat. I have come to love the whale calls guitar solo, and also have a little crush on Rufus. I'm so hoping he and adam are bonding, in a musical way! both audiences were super LOUD, on their feet and loving it. I saw tons of very young fans mixed in with the middle agers. at boston, a group of girls chanted adam's name before the concert started. a dad was teasing his daughters about how he just ran into Adam out in the corridor. at MS, there was a row of very vocal boys behind me. and the train back from boston was filled with teens w/QAL merch. I mention this in particular because Kiss108, the local top 40 station, has been giving away tix to the Boston concert, but always accompanied by disparaging and ignorant remarks. "why do we do this...no one wants to go to a queen show" "I met adam twice and he's a really nice guy but he's very ~odd" (forget the exact infuriating term used) and "his fans are older people who watch american idol" (this from the station music director). oddly, they kept saying how they themselves actually sort of wanted to go to the concert, but like it was somehow not cool enough. anyhow, hope they saw the reviews.

Stop with the temptation Talon, you must know by now that this is the epicenter for giving into temptation. "Cave" is our middle name. Fiscal responsibility is frowned upon. It's the WORST place to be when someone is trying to make a prudent choice :D Oh I know...I know....I will be strong...because as much as my wife appreciates and supports my addiction, given that she went with me yesterday, got home at 2:45am and was working this morning at 7:30am, if she had to take care of the kids tonight...she would literally kill me

Mj's review from mjsbigblog: Back from the concert. Wow. That was incredible from top to bottom. I haven't been to a balls to the walls ROCK show like that in a long while! The crowd was super pumped and enthusiastic. I was up front, but couldn't see much once the crowd stood. Adam interprets those songs in his unique and powerful, but always with reverence to the legacy of Queen. I think that's why the tour works so well as a showcase for those songs in the 21st century. We all know what an incredible singer Adam is, but Brian and Roger still bring passion and vitality to their beloved songs. The songs still sound fresh and exciting. I'll have more later, hopefully some videos will be posted on you tube. NO WAY could I have gotten any videos. Too much commotion around me. But I DID take some instagram vids. Check them out here: instagram.com/mjsbigblog "Adam interprets those songs in his unique and powerful, but always with reverence to the legacy of Queen. Like we all believe that Brian & Roger have found the perfect singer to front Queen band, a young amazing singer to help them bring the songs back to live in this 21st century and to reach the new generations of Queen fans. I believe in Brian, Roger and Adam so much, I don't really care what the naysayer says or the reviewer said. For me QAL's amazing full stop. I still want A3 though.. like NOW.

I hope someone posts a video of Brian's solo, but I'm not holding my breath. Why did you love it so much tonight? Why was it special? It Just my impression..... The drum duel seemed really fast--- Roger was really intense. Brain's solo has been getting better as the tour goes on. Last night was great - - he really seems to be having a great time. ETA: At one point - - - - during the instrumental sectional the end of FEB when Adam is doing his first costume change..... Brian literally skipped on the catwalk. I think they are having a ton of fan, an enjoying the crowd response. I'd love to see longer drum battle.
