Roger was in full voice last night, sounded better than any other show, imo. I think he was inspired by the whole vibe of the show, the audience. So thrilled for he and Brian to be having these moments. Out of a whole career of moments, I suspect these might be some of the sweetest: gauntlet run, history assured, rock legends, nothing to prove, just a wonderfully gifted singer to interpret their immense body of work and bring the joy and respect, and the adoring crowds. Well deserved, guys. Also wanted to chime in on this: I'm sure that this was special for Brian also, theosgma. Seriously. It must be overwhelming at times facing audiences of that size. That moment of personal connection which is so special for you I'm sure touches him also. Lovely that you got to share that with him. Honestly, I am careless AND OCD, makes for many edits.

EM.ES @sroczka79 17m eddietrunk.com/724-ted-nugent-queen-night-ranger-podcast-sacramento-this-weekend-more/ … NOT BAD TBH
7/24: TED NUGENT, QUEEN, NIGHT RANGER PODCAST, SACRAMENTO THIS WEEKEND, MOREby Eddie TrunkCaught Queen with Adam Lambert last night in NJ. Pretty remarkable that for the most part Queen are filling arenas (sold out MSG and The Forum in LA) with no opening act against all the competition out there this Summer. Speaks to the power and timelessness of their music. I have seen the band with Freddie, Paul Rodgers and now Adam Lambert. Stating the obvious, nobody is Freddie. But I liked Paul very much in the gig and Lambert was totally different, but also very strong. Lambert is way more flamboyant and really gets into the Freddie pageantry of the frontman role. His voice is pretty remarkable and he was clearly moved to be able to sing Freddie’s songs (as he stated) and play in a band that was important to him and so many around the globe. Queen are MASSIVE outside of the US. Here they are an arena act, everywhere else stadiums. As a matter of fact they recently did a gig in front of 500,000! Queen in 2014 is more a celebration of the music and a tribute to Freddie. Lambert is very much his own guy in the role, careful not to impersonate (no half mic stand or similar clothes, etc), but also very much about doing the material as close to Mercury as possible. Different from Rodgers who put more of a bluesy spin on it. I interviewed Brian May before the show and he told me they wanted to get back to being a little heavier and more classic Queen. The show had a little bit of a too long middle of ballads and solos, but with the two key guys being in their mid 60′s, and playing over two hours, it gave others a break. Highlights for me were “Now I’m Here”, “Stone Cold Crazy”, “Fat Bottom Girls”, and many others. Just amazing songs! Brian is one of a kind in his playing and sound and Roger sings and plays very well, especially for his age. He had an assist from his son at a few points in the show as well. Brian told me he is unsure how long he and Roger can keep doing it and where it goes from here, but loves Adam and said he thinks Freddie would have also. The demand is there for more shows and maybe even an album but seems nothing is set yet. Had a great hang after with Roger and Brian and they are just class gentlemen as well as rock icons. You will hear the complete Brian May interview in my podcast very soon as well as clips of it in both radio shows. In the short time I had with him we got into some great stuff. High praise from a heavy rock/hard metal guy. He was there with Eddie Ojeda of twisted sister. Gotta be a bit confusing for them to hear "pop boy" nail the songs. :-))))

And let's not forget "American Idol alum." Or alternately, "openly gay runner up on AI." Or even "American Idol winner."

And let's not forget "American Idol alum." Or alternately, "openly gay runner up on AI." Or even "American Idol winner." Theatre geek, gay, jewish kid who became famous coming second in a Reality show singing competition then goes on to front the Greatest Classic Rock Band of all time. In STL he takes the skeptical, elitist Queen fans to a Gospel Church in the deep South and against all odds they love it!! It's too unbelievable to be fiction!

I am a permanent lurker here. First of all, thanks to all you, guys, for all goodies that you are bringing here. Such a joyful and happy place! Izod was my second concert. The first one was MSG and my DH was with me. It would probably be appropriate here to describe our endless arguments about Adam Lambert, his voice, music and playing with Queen but I won't because it's different story for another time. But to make the story short I'd like to mention how my DH was happy at the concert and cheering and singing and having such a great time! Only this fact made me very happy, because he is not an Adam fan. Even though he liked him a lot in Idol, after American Idol has finished, he became very cool. His words "Lambert's music is not my cop of tee." I am the only person in the family who is total cuckoo about Adam and would buy everything, even if Adam decides to release a phone book. My 2 sons politely refused to go with us and that was some kind of disappointment . But some day they will understand - I know.... And the reason for this assurance that their mother has extraordinary taste in music and in singers . From the very beginning I thought that MSG would be tough to top. I was definitely wrong. Also I thought it will be enough. O, how I was wrong! It is never enough! EVER!!! So, I got the occasion: my mom's birthday. The decision was made I got the tickets and now I am so happy that I did it. Seeing my mom having literally a time of her life, she is 81, was absolutely priceless! And you know she totally got it. She told me that Adam's vocals are Opera worthy for her it's the highest complement. She is classical music freak. And also she made a very good point: because of Adam, timeless Queen music got the new young fresh vibe! Mom I love you - you totally, totally got it! My impression of the concert - the best that I witnessed. He was FIERCE! "Somebody To Love" - I couldn't breeze! And unexpectedly "Tie My Mother Down" became the favorite. The moment when Brian and Adam started challenge each other - Adam vocally and Brian with his guitar - This moment, o, this moment!! "Is this a real life, or is this just FANTASY?" The only complain - the concert is too short! Some girls behind us were shouting "We want more!" Can not agree more! WE NEED MORE! PS. It was such a pleasure to meet Hoppers and Happycat at MSG. Also saw Michael Slezak in Izod Center. He was with his mom and nephew. He told me for him it was the first concert and he was expecting a lot. But I did not see any comments coming from him yet. O, well, we are patient.....
