If they record as just Queen there would be a riot and even I would be miffed. Queen is Freddie Brian Roger and John. It should be Queen + Adam Lambert. That marks it as it's own entity. Justi as Queen + Paul Rodgers when they released The Cosmos Rocks. B&R will not record together without using the Queen name and why should they but they will never record as just Queen unless it's the album with freddie recordings or an album where they sang. But yes as set up both John and Freddie's estate as managed by Jim Beach would receive payment as a part of Queen Productions. Just as they will receive $$ from this tour and any bluray or DVD. And rightfully so. They were half of the Queen legacy which is what this new collaboration is based on. As i posted before - WHY would Adam want to be part of Queen proper? He is a solo artist, and it is awesome for him to collaborate as a separate entity IMO... I see no benefit to him in being "absorbed" into Queen. (Riots would be fun to watch though  ) Yes, I agree that it would be mass hysteria on all sides if that ever happened. I'm not suggesting that all. I was asking if Brian, Roger and Adam write music together, wouldn't it be better for them to not use the Queen name at all? Maybe I'm not looking at this from a business standpoint. I agree there too...He could definitely do a side by side career though. That's about all Queen would want anyways as they are doing so much too. That would be the only thing that would make me upset. I love Queen. I love Queen + Adam. I would not love Queen (w/Adam as a part of it). Ok the crown upset me a smidge (but I got over it  ) ALTHOUGH I might add that my 10 year old daughter (who likes Adam's singles) saw a vid of Adam during WATC and frowned a bit...She said, "He's really really really good...but only Freddie should wear the crown. Freddie's the king. Adam's a prince...or something..." I had to laugh.... Oh she is brainwashed! But you have to tell her Freddie is the Queen, not the King. In my mind if they did that, it would be more acceptable to the purists since they really wouldn't have anything to bitch about. They'd still say that B&R were wasting their times/talents, but it wouldn't be nearly as vitriolic without the Queen name. ME? I could care less what they call themselves...BUT I know that if B&R record together it will be as Queen as that is the brand...and the brand they spent years working up so they might as well use it Of course they could bill themselves as Smile + Adam Lambert since B&R are 2/3 of Smile |
