Courier-Post Queen teams up with Adam Lambert
When it comes to reality television shows, I can be a little bit of a hater. I assume the role of the armchair quarterback while scrutinizing the credentials of these alleged nationwide talent hunts. Like, don’t you think they’d occasionally get it right? Isn’t it lame I can only recall a handful of winners? Is the cream actually rising to the top? Oh, wait — Adam Lambert, runner-up in the eighth season of “American Idol,” is currently touring as the lead singer of the reunited, reinvigorated Queen. And the new Queen is playing to hugely supportive audiences and injecting new life into one of the greatest song-by-song rock catalogs of all time. Tickets are going to be scarce Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center, but try and scoop up a couple if you can. Prices run from $35 to $125. For more information, visit wellsfargocenterphilly.com. — Matt Chimento www.courierpostonline.com/story/entertainment/2014/07/10/queen-teams-adam-lambert/12435883/

CultureMap Dallas: WEEKEND EVENT PLANNERQueen, Lionel Richie and KISS top a throwback weekend of Dallas events
Queen and Adam Lambert in concertQueen and Adam Lambert have been in a mutual admiration society ever since Lambert's time on American Idol. But it wasn't until they performed together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival last year that they decided that going on tour together would be a good thing. You can judge for yourself when they take over the stage at American Airlines Center. dallas.culturemap.com/news/entertainment/07-10-14-queen-lionel-richie-kiss-concert-best-weekend-events/

Forums > Queen + Adam Lambert > Q+AL - a musician's perspectivewww.queenzone.com/forums/1389352/q-and-al-a-musicians-perspective.aspxExcerpt: Music is an experience of emotion. It is the soundtrack of our lives. Songs bring people back to their youth. Changing any one variable can translate to being an attack on one's memory or not being faithful to their past. Just take a deep breath and know that nobody's trying to trivialize that. But let's call a spade a spade. This feeling of having realized that 30 years have passed and that your dreams didn't come true and that you're 50-something and missed the boat are then externalized onto the music of your youth, that time of hopes and dreams - when we were kids when we were young and things seemed so perfect, you know - and the creators of said music are typecast into the listener's past and are almost not allowed to live in the present. Ask Journey fans who can't hear Steve Perry sing Don't Stop Believin' with his old mates anymore, or Yes fans who can't hear Jon Anderson do And You And I or Roundabout. Some people would prefer to see Brian and Roger call it a day because Freddie Mercury died. Fortunately they don't care about your opinion. Even if they did, they wouldn't have time for it. They have packed arenas to play to. Read more... The replies are all positive! Check those out too. Agreed. It is a fabulous post but honestly - the glambert "newbies" negate the positive responses from the board's members. (I really wish our fandom would stop doing that *sighs* *sorrynotsorry*)

I'm glad he posted that. TRW is a great great man. I've had the opportunity to meet him and hang out with him in real life and he's extremely knowledgeable, with great intentions, and just a funny man.
I haven't gotten the chance to talk to him about the tour yet...but what's amazing (and perhaps even more important to you guys) is that he is one who would rather they had continued with PR.
It made me reach out to see what he thought of the gig - I believe he saw Edmonton? (perhaps Saskatoon).

I wanted to thank everyone who posts pics and reviews from this North American Queen + Adam Lambert tour for all those of us in Europe (and elsewhere) who can't be there in person. I love being a part of this 'virtual tour' that I've been following from the start. It's the closest I can get, and it's been made possible by you, Atopians. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
So, in return, if you don't mind, let me share with you music lovers who are in North America, following the actual Q+AL tour, something that's happening right now in Europe: the State of Exit lives again for 4 days. Tens of thousands of people are back today for the best and the biggest Music Festival in Europe!!! [if you're not interested to read on, scroll is your friend, cause this is not really related to Adam]
Exit (also known as State of Exit) is an award-winning summer music festival which is held at the Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia. It was officially proclaimed as the 'Best Major European festival' at the EU Festival Awards, in January 2014. The EU Festival Award is considered one of the most prestigious festival awards in the world, and for the 2014 ceremony 620 000 people voted, choosing between 360 festivals from 34 countries.
The festival was founded in 2000 in the University park as a student movement, fighting for democracy and freedom in Serbia and the Balkans. After the democratic changes happened in Serbia, Exit moved to the Petrovaradin fortress in 2001. Nonetheless, social responsibility is still a very important aspect of the festival activities. During the entirety of the festival, the State of Exit laws apply: freedom, love, music, tolerance, equality, and partying are celebrated in an atmosphere of togetherness and unity. The State even has its own money with which you buy drinks and food!
Exit is also special because of the locality which houses the festival: Petrovaradin Fortress is huge, with such configuration of open spaces that it is possible to hold more than a dozen concerts at the same time without sound spilling from one stage to another. Which means, that during one day/night, you can chill on the Reggae stage, rock out on the Rock Stage, see big names on the Main Stage, dance your heart out on the Disco and Dance stages, and finish the night with the best DJs in the Dance Arena or hang out on the more intimate Loud & Queer Stage. Plus so much more...
Exit has won the 'Best Overseas Festival' award at the UK Festival Awards in 2007, 'Best Major Festival Award' in 2013 and was ranked one of the 10 best major festivals at European Festival Awards 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 and one of the 10 Best Overseas Festival at UK Festival Awards 2013.
Exit has gained international media attention over the years. The International edition of CNN, CNN World Fiesta, featured an article on music festivals in the beginning of June 2011, which included Exit on the list of nine best festivals in the world. The Guardian declared Exit as the best festival in the world in 2006 and the best tourist destination in 2008. The Sun, the British daily newspaper, included Exit on the list of eight best festival destinations in 2012. In Euronews' May 2013 article on the world's leading festival destinations, Exit was included in the ten best European festivals in 2013.
