I can't quite figure out something. Live Nation must be making a mint on these concerts. Why aren't they putting out the box scores????

I'm glad I wrenched myself away from twitter and QAL videos to come here and see what's cooking. Just two pages but a very interesting discussion with both sides each articulating a reasonable position. I'm coming down on cassie's side for the most part. For me the quality of the voice is more important than the overall production. I've enjoyed singers just standing at a mic and singing as much as a full-blown ott production. Sometimes more. Exceptions to the rule for me exist. There are "singers" who do not have great voices that can still reach down and grab my heart. One example (and man does this date me) is Jimmy Durante singing September Song. Another is Billie Holiday singing almost anything. There are others but I'll leave it at that. Huge production shows are fun of course! But it's nice if the "star" also has discernible vocal talent. QAL obviously has both! No sides! :-) Just a vast, continuous spectrum of opinions and tastes. :D We're all on it somewhere! Edited to add a smilie! I forget I can access these on a computer: I guess "side" was a poor choice of words. Let's say I'm a little left of center on the voice spectrum. Voice most important---------------- ------------ MIDDLE--------------------------------Voice not always important

www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1s2f830Okay... this girl's recap is totally hilarious!! I love her! Do we have any vids and/or Atoppers' personal experiences with this part of her recap: "... THEN ADAM TELLS US TO REPEAT AFTER HIM AND AFTER A WHILE HE STARTS LAUGHING BECAUSE ALL OF THE VOICES WERE SO SOFT AND HE JUST STARTS LAUGHING THEN OUT OF THE ORDINARY WHILE WE WERE STILL REPEATING HIM A GUY FLASHES HIM AND HE'S LIKE "YAY TITTIES." LMAO AND THEN HE TRIES TO SOUND FUNNY DOING A COUNTRY ACCENT..." When and where was he doing the "country accent"? And when/what song was the "yay titties" incident?

I'm in a hurry, not sure about the country accent, but the "Yay titties" was during the call and response after TYMD. Some dude pulled his shirt up!

A review by a Queen fan: Thursday July 10th 2014 is a night I will never forget. That night I got to see Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor live for two and a half hours. I also discovered that Adam Lambert has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard, not to mention a really, really good front man. This show exceeded my expectations and I’ll explain why in the paragraphs below. ... As far as Adam Lambert, he really blew me away and started to do so early into the show. The thing I like about his performance was he didn’t go off the deep end with the songs, but he did give them his own flair while staying true to them. That’s a very hard thing to do and very, very few singers could pull that off, but he did. With Lambert, they are able to do songs they would not dare do with any other singer not named Freddie Mercury. Songs like Somebody to Love, In the Laps of the Gods…Revisited, and The Show must go on. Lambert won me over when he nailed “Somebody to Love”. The only other singer (other than Freddie) I’ve heard do that song justice was George Michael during the FM tribute concert in 1992. Lambert had no trouble at all hitting virtually every note of that song. Impressive. He did “The Show Must Go On” well, although he couldn’t/wouldn’t hit the inhumanly high notes Freddie reached on the studio track. I’m not sure anyone else could go where Freddie went that recording session, so I’m glad he didn’t attempt it. Lambert also has incredible stage presence, which is vital if you’re going to front Queen for a tour. I felt he held back during some songs, but when he let loose he was as close to Freddie stage banter as you can get. He’s definitely not on the same level as Freddie in that area, but no one is or ever will be in my eyes. He was entertaining, fun, and knows how to work a crowd, though. If you get a chance, see him live. You won’t be disappointed. Read more: greggorox.blogspot.ca/2014/07/queen-adam-lambert.html
